glass problems

Follow Ka Pow and Mose's directions. You won't go wrong.

You'll need to use white vinegar.

Keep your glass dampened with vinegar for 2hrs.

Flush with lots of shampoo and water. Dry. Inspect.

Be careful of acid-based stuff. It works.....but on glass with lots of ultra-fine scratches and stone chips, the chemical will migrate into these micro-fine fissures and cause haziness...thus permanently damaging the glass. Some side mirrors that're coated at the factory, can also be damaged by these strong acid-based chemicals.

For scratched glass especially for windscreens, cerium oxide is hard to beat. People use it to polish scratches out of telescope lenses and opticians use it to polish scratches out of spectacles. I think that tells you everything!

Correct.

If my customer wants to professionally remove ingrained water marks, I'll use Cerium Oxide..the classic professional method.

It's very expensive to purchase, though, and looks like Hershey's chocolate powder.

Glass must be clean, and thoroughly wet.

Use yellow foam pad on rotary (speed 1-2), and work on a 2'x2' area. Very messy, and you're building up a thin layer of slurry.

Wash with shampoo and rinse.
