Glass Polish

I have some marks on the outside of my glass and I was wondering if anyone had used any glass polish before. If so what brand? And what were your results?

Thanks.

Before using polish there are two methods that you might try. 1) Clay the glass just like claying your paint. 2) #0000 steelwool and your regular glass cleaner.

Nick T,

Are you recommending 1) use clay or Steel wool and then use glass polish or 2) as alternatives to using a glass polish?

I have also use Autoglym Glass Polish Kit from CMA with my PC, which is great it really shine up the glass but it doesn't take out scratches. So I guess it depends on the marks you have. :nixweiss

It is worth a try because the glass really does sparkles now. :xyxthumbs

As alternatives to using a glass polish. Either steel wool or clay may be quicker/easier than polishing, especially if you don’t have a PC buffer.

I have had great results from using 3M SMR. A light cut compound would work well too.

About the steel wool, you need to be careful where and how you use it because many newer cars have special coatings on the outside of the glass to block UV rays, and to aid in water sheeting, etc... By using the wool you may scratch that coating and end up with more scratches than you had before.

So just be careful, and whatever you use be sure and test it on a small area first. :xyxthumbs
