getting glue off headliner

Ok first off this was not my car, a friend of mine tried to use velcro to keep the sunvisor up on his car and not only did it not work now he can not get the sticky stuff off the healiner.The head liner is tan velour (spelling ?) any help would be great.

Is the velour smooth or porous? If it is smooth, I would try a diluted solution of water and rubbing alcohol. That should do the trick. Once you have cleaned the area, I would then go back over it with water.



If it is porous, I might try a carpet cleaner. That stuff tends to work well on "carpeted" roofs.
