general rule for order of polish aggressiveness?

is there a standard rule that everyone sticks to when going after swirls of varying severity? i've heard "start with the least aggressive and work your way up if needed", which makes perfect sense. ok, but how about this scenario:

paint condition: moderate to severe swirls

products: poorboy ssr-1, ssr-2, ssr-2.5, ssr-3

after you start with ssr-2 and work your way up to whatever is necessary...say ssr-3 for the example...do you go back down the series in order...or just jump to ssr-1 as a final step? or is each product needed inbetween to remove the more aggressive levels of remnant defects from the product before?

thanks!

with time you will see that you have to start with ssr 2.5 . (pc use yes?)

ssr 2 & ssr1 should be used after the more aggressive polish. It WILL make your paint look fantastic.

here is an example for you. 4 polishing steps before protection.

Looks great! What steps did you use?? To the OP, it all depends on the paint, and the condition but it is good practice to take more steps to make it right.

great info...makes sense. yes, assuming a PC or other buffer being used. i wanted to make sure i wouldn't be wasting time by going back down the ladder of products if you could just go from ssr-3 to ssr-1, etc. it sounds like ssr-2.5/1 is the combo of choice for the majority of average SMR's.
