Gardeners suck! Ford GT.

My worst nightmare when performing a mobile detail is to have the gardeners show up. I even hate it when the show up to the neighbor's house, cuase the freaken stir dirt up everwhere with their blowers. If you look at the pic, you will see the guy with the lawnmower getting as close as he could to the GT...I gave the other guy with the blower a good glare, letting him know I didn't want him anywhere near me. I was claying the car at the time.

The pics suck cause all I had with me was my camera phone. And it was overcast (good thing since I didn't have any shade), so even the "after" pictures don't show much.

As an aside, the owner is remodeling his garage and the GT has been sitting out on his lawn the last several months...for a while it was clearly getting hit by the sprinklers as evidenced by the water spots. Kinda sad. Even worse, the owner has been washing it himself and has swirled it up pretty bad. I only got paid for a 1-step polish job, so it still had some swirls when I was done...we'll probably do a 3-step buff once his garage is done. Oh yeah, the bonded rust was frightfully bad too (salt air).

On a good note, I think he's gonna take me for a spin next time...and he added 200 horses by upgrading the supercharger...or something.

Yeah that does suck, especially when detailing something as beautiful as a Ford GT. Even though it still has swirls, it looks great in the pics.

sorry that was one of my guys with the weed wacker!!dont worryxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx:chuckle:

Yeah, it came out pretty nice, as the remaining swirls are fairly light.

Even though the fit and finish of the GT isn't as nice as a Ferrari or Lambo, you can't get better performance for your dollar...and he was able to add a couple hundred horses for less than $3,000 more! But really, I don't much like working on super high-end vehicles...they're always more of a pain, and so too are their owners (often).

PUBLIC WARNING: Racist remarks are a one-way ticket to Banville. :nomore:

daayum.

its a sin to have a boat, a ford GT, AND mexican laborers (gardener)

while getting a detail as well.

can i get his address?

ima reenact the movie "ransom"

I wonder if you hosed down the grass around the car when they pulled up if that would keep the dust down. I know its not going to keep all the dust away, but might reduce it some.

Yeah, the dust really wasn't too bad. And actually, I had already got the surrounding area wet during the wash.

Dude....I HATE it when this happens!!:furious:

I was doing a GT also, plus his Porsche Turbo when the gardner gang showed up....first the mower, then the weedwacker and the the blower....we had to No-Rinse the cars all over again:angry

You think they could have said.."Hey we will go do a few other houses and let you guys finish" But NOOooooo.....and those stupid blowers those gardner guys use, do they even help at all?? I mean to me it looks like they are just blowing all the crap into the street where cars drive past and then end up blowing it right back onto the freshly cut lawn OR they blow it into the lawn next door....the irony there is that many times they then go to that very house next to cut the grass!!!:nixweiss

Psst, it comes with a supercharger :D

That's why I said he upgraded the supercharger, but I don't know which one he got or anything.

He indicated that it's real hard to keep it straight and on the road if he's oh full throttle...almost too much power.

They (city ordinance or something) seriously ought to outlaw blowers for "yard cleanup." As you indicated, all they do is stir dirt from one place to another. When they stir dirt up like they do, everybody's windows, cars, etc. gets dirty faster. In San Diego, everybody has gardeners and all of them use blowers to "clean up"...it's a real mess.

They have their place in yard cleanup. What ought to be outlawed is blowing your yard waste into other people's yards or out into the street. A blower is great for blowing grass clippings off the driveway back onto the lawn (they will decompose quickly), picking up leaves in the fall, even blowing light powder snow off the deck and the car.

My ex-neighbor would mow every time I detailed my car without fail. He was a great guy otherwise though.

I swear, the mowing crews seem to have my schedule each week because I deal with it all the time. Once though, I was detailing an X5 and had pretty much finished when one of the workers, instead of using the mower for a patch of grass in front of the X5, used a week whacker instead, spraying grass all over the front end of the X5...in full view of the owner who happened to be looking out his office window. Even before I could say anything, he was outside screaming at the idiot with the weed whacker and then at their supervisor. He told them if he ever saw them get so much as a speck of dust on his car again, he'd fire them (he is the owner of that company) and get someone else. He made them go blow all the crap off the X5, but I still had to QD it again. :wall
