I have 3 - a Great Dane (~185lbs), a Rottweiler (~125 lbs) and a boxer( ~90lbs).

I think the weight you listed for your Great Dane is a little off.. On average males get to be no more then 110 lbs. They are large dogs height-wise, but are pretty light for their size. It is all lean muscle.. Bred for speed, not so much bulk.



If you want a dog that will really scare off oncomers, and is 185lbs, look into Neopolitan Mastiffs :scared

There is a larger subset of this breed ( not your normal pet shop pedigree that normally only reach 130lbs) that grow quite large. The father of my Great Dane (Denver) was 200+ all muscle with direct German pedigree. Yes, the average GD male is normally 120-140lbs and the average human male is 70kg (~160lbs). Have you notice the size of most football linemen, or baseball players on steriods?

Denver stands over 6'3" when he places his paws on my shoulder. My dog food bill is the other verification. You are welcome to any of my cars if you can get pass my mutant GD. :wavey
