Incredible work there! Results speak for themselves..

If you don't mind me asking, what wattage is that halogen spot light you used?

That light is a 500W. I got it at Canadian Tire for ~$39. It works well but beware, they get very hot!

Scott - that sounds like the ideal G35 owner. :) I have a bunch of VM too, so maybe I'll start using that on repeat G35s.

Thanks everyone.

Even better, he usually brings along another G35 owner with him and he referred me to his boss who has a new Jaguar XK8-we just haven't been able to coordinate schedules.

I find that VM is an excellent maintenance polish.

I am glad to see postings about this same problem I started experiencing when I bought my black G35 in '04. I did some postings here and some other places with questions on how to get through this finiky paint, but no one had any solutions that worked for me, so I felt like I was a dummy, because no one else was posting the same problems I was having. Its been driving me nuts for the last 2 years. My question, have you used any Mequiar's stuff on this paint, and are you strickly using the DA or a combination rotary and DA?

One last question, is it better with this paint, to wash it once a week vs dusting it every couple of days, were talking SoCal weather?

Thanks

bcgreen - not sure if that question was for Scott but here is my call. I've used Megs 80 on my car many times, it works well on light scratches and I actually like that it does some filling, since it's a black daily driver. I also like that it's so easy to use. I've not used 83 on Infiniti paint. I'm using a DA only, I believe Scott is the same.

I use spray and wipe on my car probably every day, or every second day. If you're careful you'll be able to keep the dust down without marring. I wash as little as possible (maybe once every two weeks).

Cheers.

Thanks for the reply. As you can tell from my username where I'm from, but anyway that rear bump is just so hard to keep from streaking after detailing spray. I make one swipe, then turn the cloth and swipe again. But I find after a few days I start seeing streaks, which means its time to break out the DA again - WAPIA. I also wash maybe every 3 weeks, and it is a daily driver.

Have you used m66?

yet another reason why Mez PowerGloss is my "go to" compound !

outstanding work !

and you even yellow padded it ! woooaaah..
