I have been noticing the fantastic jobs that the 3m Ultrafina product has been turning out and was looking for where to go to get it locally, to perfect a detail that I had. Well the answer was right in my backyard. Mattos Pro Finishes carries (in stock) a pretty decent amount of 3M items, and they can order the full line of Meguiars and 3M for you without the shipping charges (turn around 3-7 days). The chain is employee owned and the customer service has been expceptional.

The only downside that I saw was that I wished that they had some of the Meguiars Pads (in stock). I like the 3M pads, but not as much as the LC or Meguiar pads (creature of habit, I guess). The blue 3M pad works fantastic though with the Ultrafina.

I had never used a 8" foam pad prior to the 3M blue polishing pad. After polising a few panels with it, I really like it. I think its now my favorite foam pad.

OK, didnt think so.

I did not know that there was a difference. The proper name of the product that I purchased is called Ultrafina SE. Does that somehow distingish it to be different. Teach me please...what are the differences?

Edit: OK I now understand that you are speaking about the pads #05388 (UK-Ultrafina SE) vs. #05733 and #05711 (US-Ultrafina). I have not seen the UK version but I cannot believe that there would be that noticable a difference between the two types of pads, but I could be wrong.

I like the insert design also, because it protects the paint from hitting the backing plate.

Mattos is good people, I've been going there to get 3M stuff for a long time. When I worked at a detailing shop in Rockville several years ago I used to go there to get supplies for the shop as well.

Just used Ultrafina SE for the first time. I am impressed with the results. The ultrafina se blue pad is awesome. It is now my #1 pad.:wow:
