I have found that claying the chrome cladding makes all the difference in the world on these wheels. Takes out just about all the tiny 'pitting' that people complain about on these wheels. I just used an older piece of clay and voila the rough spots went back to mirror smooth. I think the brake dust is such a contaminant that it just trashes the surface and you are not supposed to use any cleaner other than soap and water on them. I usually follow up with a coat of wax.
