Funny thing happened at Wal-Mart

I have 7 vehicles and since the wife and I are both retired they don't go ever day and all are kept in a climate controlled garage.
Every time we drive one when we get home I go over it with a QD or S&W and some times follow with AW.
One of these vehicles is a 1992 Ford Explorer XLT 4 door that I bought new and it now has 35000 miles on it.
About 2 weeks ago I bought a new car and while at the Wal-Mart my wife and I were in the Explorer ready To leave when a guy I had not seen in years came up and ask how I was he said he had heard about my back surgery and a friend of mine had told him that I got a new car.
He said it really looks nice. :wow:
I told him that the new car was at home I said this one is 17 years old.
He said what did you do restore it and i said no it just has been cared for and don't need restored.
He said well it sure looks like a new one. :rofl
I think that is cool when people think my 17 year old vehicle is new..

That a boy Black Bart, a man after my own heart. I am also retired and because of my money situation I had to get a part time job. The job I got is a service driver for a Toyota dealership. I drive customers to work, train station, home and to the store. The dealership offers this service to its customers when they bring there cars for service. Since I am part of the service department I see all kinds of cars , about 90% are pig styes. I appreciate it when people keep there cars like new.

If you know the different model years you would know the year but most people don't know what year they changed design so they go on what they look like.
This is my 2000 Ranger with 118,000 miles on it and many times i have had people say I see you got a new truck. :lmfao

Bart, I see you got a NEW TRUCK! :D

Looks good

its really good that you restore your 17 year old vehicle. and you feel happy when someone gives you a compliment that nice car.

that's great black bart ! i had a similar thing happen when i took my 2000 ford f150 into a ford dealer for some servicing. the mechanic couldn't give me enough compliments about how great the truck looked, inside & out, and under the hood, compared to the usual trashed vehicles he usually deals with. he was really shocked. (that included brand new vehicles that were trashed in no time) great to see those who can appreciate taking care of what you have. :bigups
