And if this isnt the coolest add on, I dont know what is. "Carrera" lights up when the door is opened.

Bence, this ride was in excellent shape to begin with. The owner called me (I detailed about 9 months ago) to remove some stubborn scratches and radial scratches, as well as some marring that looks to have been courtesy of someone leaning on the fenders.

I started with SSR 2 and green pad, moved up to some FK 303, which actually scared me with its agressiveness for a glaze! I left that for another vehicle to yet be determined. Then tried 2.5 with an Orange pad, too much hazing for my liking.

Orange with Optimum was perfect. Im finding this to be my go to combo quite frequently....

Excellent work Patrick! Those S wheels are fun, aren't they?

I've also had problems with the SSRs hazing on Porsche paint but Optimum and #80 seem to work fine. Odd because I normally don't have hazing issues with the SSRs. :nixweiss

Patrick, work the glaze in slowly and meticulously. It is a classic FK characteristics. The 303 is an abrasive, functional glaze, not a cosmetic one which fills everything for a short time. It hides minor imperfections well but it is durable.

When I first tried it, WHOA! Hazing everywhere. Ok, I was doing it by hand but after I bought out my DA, it removed its own hazing in no time. As it breaks down and cleans, it prepares the surface and bonds very well. Most stable glaze in my experience.

Patrick, how did you do the wheels? The inner parts look PERFECT!

Well, I had a helper this time around! someone whos real interested in detailing came along for the ride and assisted me with just about every facet of the job, except the PC work.....The owner keeps the car in great shape to begin with, short of a little brake dust here and there, the wheels were pretty good from the get go. They were actually cleaned with MW.....

Scott, kind of odd isnt it ? I do a lot of Porsches and every one is quite unique too !

Bence, I made fairly short order of the 303. When I saw what it was doing, I fig'd "I'll wait on this stuff, not here, not today." So it just needs to be worked a while ?

Patrick, yes, it needs to be worked in, allow it to break down. Give it time, work with it as you would with a polish. Kind of. Strange for a glaze, but that's why I call it a 'functional', abrasive glaze. It is not just a usual wipe'n'hide thing. But it won't be the weakest link in the layer film package.

I have two words for that:

NICE!!

Dark colored car looking that good in the Sun? Good job.

p.s.

I have to disagree about the door sills. Very gimmicky, alll thos non-essentials are a further reason why the Carreras need to go on a diet. Those cars are getting to darn heavy! Its like Porsche aren't even trying anymore, 50 pound battery when a 15 pound braile will do? I digress.

Nice work as always Patrick! :xyxthumbs

He posted the link on Rennlist on his car. I'm a member on the site as well in the 997 forum as I wait for my "P" car to be shipped soon from Germany. It finished production on 3/15! :woohoo:

Needed that much work? Never tried the Optimum, but seems to be a good product for softer paints prone to haze.

Deanski

Another A+++ effort from Patrick, a man with talents in the detailing products business and mad detailing skills. :)

That third shot really shows off the wetness of the car. :bow

Deanski, overall the paint was in pretty darn good shape, it just had some longitudal scratching, and wash induced repairs....The Optimum works very well.....

Thanks Lee, more coming this weekend....Range Rover and another Carrera......!
