Free Wax for the taking!! Answer the question.

Barrett, thank you very much! I received the wax last night. First of all I want to say that this is the best smelling wax I have ever used! Anyways, I used it on my hood this afternoon...very easy to use, easy on and off, and practically no dust. It really gives it a wet look! The wax that I always use on my Volvo USED TO BE S100. I feel that this is a much better product. I am probably going to make batches for myself from now on. I give it a 9 / 10.

Thanks again Barrett!

barrettward have you tried other ratios? Like maybe 50/50 or even 60(natty)/40(nxt)?

I have a couple more home brews in the mix. I plan to make 5 or so test batches and give them away in another thread. That way I can get feedback from others. Look for this in the next couple days.

I plan to try a few different ratios as well as two/three new secret ingredients. I am lucky enough that my Uncle owns a paint manufacturing company and I plan to go down to the lab and try some stuff out with my uber nerd chemist cousins.

I'm thinking about making a black nuba wax for black cars. I know it's been done-AKA Black Velvet, however I have a few more ideas up my sleeve.

I don't plan on selling anything, I just want to share my recipes and enjoy the hobby.

How about something for white cars?

I keep seeing "deeper, darker color" waxes everywhere. How about "Whiter, brighter" etc?

Well, I think the crux of an amazing white finish would be more about keeping it extremely clean of contaminants and surface blemishes. Don't get me wrong, one wax can still surpass another on white, but in regards to aesthetics, a meticulous claying and polishing will do the most for white cars. With black we can literally see the depth of the surface by the way light shades and reflects over it, but with white it is more about sheen, consistency, and contrast with parts of the car that are not of the same finish. (trim, tires, rims, windows)

Ok wax is boxed an will ship tomorrow.

My lawyer wife: What are those boxes?

Me: Wax I'm sending to the guys on that car care website.

Wife: The stuff that smells like oranges?

Me: Yeah.

Wife: We'll I hope none your friend's kids eat the wax and sue us.

Me: Is that a common case that comes across your desk?

Wife: You should put a warning label on there.

Me: There already in the box.....

Wife: You and your geek friends are going to cost us the house.

Me: No one is going to eat the wax!

Wife: Famous last words!

Me: I'm going to the garage.

Wife: Whatever.

SO- In lieu of a label. Please don't let your kids eat car care products. With or without a label warning you of such, I don't want your kids to get sick. On the other hand I don't want my wife to bitc% at me when we are homeless.

Please heed this warning.

Thanks,

Barrett
