Free items for customers???

Do you guys give free items for new/returning customers??? Like say, personalized hanging air fresheners that say thanks!! or something like that???
 
When I first started my mobile detailing business, I was giving away inexpensive hand held vacuum's for new customer's who bought a full detail package.



When cash flow is better, I'll probably implement some new marketing tactic as far as giving away free items.....(pens, t-shirts, hats, etc with my company name......or in this case since the Philadelphia Eagles are kicking booty, give away some Eagle's items!):xyxthumbs
 
free items are always a good thing :D as you have mentioned air freshners cost next to nothing but it does make a difference and brings a smile to customers.
 
I just under promise and over deliver. Occasionally, I'll give the customer a copy of a pic of their car after it was detailed. They seem to like that.

I currently offer free custom pens that I purchase from National Pen Corporation. Their website is at http://www.pens.com



I also give away free New Jersey State Roadmaps to all of my customers too. I simply wrote a letter to the State of NJ and ask for three hundred free copies. About a month later they were delivered.



I also give my customers business card refridgerator magnets that promote the fact that my detailing business has been voted 'The Best in South Jersey' by the local newspaper readers. http://hometown.aol.com/mirrorfinishman/Courier-PostBestofSouthJersey.html

Haha, nice. I could also drive over to the nearest state welcome center and gank their whole stash while no one's looking.:p



But your way sounds easier. How do your customers like the maps?? I was thinking of maybe a cheap/nice goodie bag. Maybe a small gift bag w/ my company logo on it, then put in like some cheap air fresheners/maps/etc... Something that would cost a total of like 5 bucks, and give them to new/favorite clients.



I am no where near even building a clientele yet, and I'm just learning how to use the buffer/equipement. But I love thinking of these little things before I even start.:o
 
I have a few customers that are pro detailers that give out microfiber towels to their customers. Some even give out a QD spray so that the customer can easily maintain their freshly detailed car. Their customers really seem to appreciate the gesture, it shows that you are genuinely concerned with their car's appearance for the long run and not just in it for the money.

ye would be good to print out some sticker labels wit your logo and telephone number, so that u can stick it on any free road maps, magazines, books, samples of products...anythin for ppl to see
