Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection

I couldn't find a detailed thread on this product so I figured I'd start one.



I've been using the Four Star Ultimate Paint Protection for almost 6 months, and the results have been great. I love putting this stuff on, just pure pleasure, goes on easy and comes off easy. It seems to hold up pretty well for 4-5 months. The shine is pretty nice for a synthetic LSP, even though I do top it with P21S.



I also use the Four Star Ultimate Shampoo and Ultimate Gloss Enhancer, both which are great products as well.



So what are other's opinion of this product?
 
UPP has been discussed plenty of times. It's a great product for metallics but there is nothing new about it.
 
UPP was actually revised last year due to VOC's. I totally agree with the original poster. Its a great products in my arsenal, and is the most frequently used synthetic I have. It just provides stellar slickness, compliments any color paint, and has above average protection.

The UPPS is just as easy to use and again, great slickness/protection. I even use the Ult Tire Gel on faded trim. Very versatile line of products.
 
I use it on my S8 and I really like it for that application. Seems to need redone pretty often if I want to maintain the slickness, but it's so user-friendly that it's not a problem.

Anything I'd notice, or are the changes end-user transparent? I still have trouble remembering which bottle is V2.0/V3.0...now there'd be another one to keep track of!
 
I love UPP, only complaint is that the slickness dies off fast, about two weeks. But with the UPPS I just boost it at least once a week. I use it after each QD or wash.



I wish it lasted a bit longer but the paint is oh so silky. No idea what the protection of it is though.

If you want to read up on this product, search for "UPP" instead of "Ultimate Paint Protection" and I believe you will find a lot.



BTW, I agree this stuff goes on and comes off extremelty easy.

Agreed, by far the most unique Gloss & Slickness. It doesn't last! I'm going to try using UPC before it, then top it with Opti Seal.
 
That's why I used to mix it with wolfgang DGPS sealant in a small bottle and then apply

Wolfgang although having poor durability IMO gives amazing slickness that lasts longer than UPP and is a great combo.



I no longer use them on my family's cars

OK, if I *ever* use up what I have now I won't have to worry.



I asked because I did notice a difference between v2.0/v3.0, with the latter being less oily, quicker drying, and a little less finicky about what's under it.
 
So why isn't UPP more popular?



This stuff makes the paint slicker than anything else I have ever tried. Its looks are certainly on par with other sealants, if not better than some.



It goes on and (especially) comes off VERY EASILY. A little goes a long way.



So the only thing I see that is a drawback to this product is (apparently) it's longevity (or lack thereof).



My question is this: what are people judging UPP's longevity by?



Clearly the slickness that it creates does NOT last very long. But does the fact that the superb slickness only lasts a couple of weeks mean that the UPP isn't still providing the same or similar protection that you would get with other sealants? We aren't judging it's longevity based solely on how long the slickness lasts, are we?
 
So how long does the protection generally last, given your standard CA weather?



I'm looking for a replacement for my BF WDAFPP because for one, I don't like the name and two, I'm not ecstatic about its look on my pearlescent black (for me, it NEEDS CG's EZ Creme underneath to look good.) I've been looking hard at UPP as a replacement but I want at least the 6 month protection that CMA would have me believe.



Talking about names... I should ditch everything and switch to Prima. Simple names...



I'm honestly starting to lose faith in sealants. It seems like my 476S will last or outlast most of them and you can't seem to really get a good look out of one without doing Zaino's multi-step process or buying into Ultima. I'd love to go with Ultima but honestly, the 30 bucks I spent on Pete's 53 (I'd say it's worth about 20 bucks) is already a lot for me. My next buy is either Meg's 26, ClearKote CMW, or S100.
