Forgive me Autopia...

Weather is real un autopian friendly lol!

But your car looks great, u looking forward to summer trim?

I just finished washing my car, nice weather....I think it reached a high of 35*

My hands are still defrosting.........berrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

You warm weathered friend are eating this up :lol

AlexRuiz: I had Z5 for a bit before then and I agree, it had a richer color. Before that was FMJ x 3, TS x 3. I keep trying new combo's to keep my interest high :) ...I may top this, who knows!

I bet your Teg is the cleanest vehicle on those salt encrusted New England and NY roads!! I do not miss those few months of limited detailing capability one bit.

As Lee and Todd said...today was cold (by southern standards...high 30's) and wet in the ATL but this weekend promises to be sweet. ;)

I feel your pain Sean. It's 67 degrees here right now, and all of this snow is just killing me. I lost traction several times on black ice on the way to school today.

:lol

AAAAAAnyways, car looks great. Do you have any slinging issues with E.O. WET? My friend tried it on his cobra.....applied and buffed off after 10 mins of it being in the sun. By the time he got to my house (2 miles away, not even), his entire car was COVERED in the stuff. I'm talking hood, windows, roof, all upper and lower panels, etc. I think the only part of his car that DIDN'T have sling on it was the front bumper for obvious reasons :p

Yeah, soooooooo today was the first day it has broken freezing here since about Mid November, so this is the first time since then it has been washed.... and its black. I was honestly dumbfounded when I was done, I had forgotten what it looked like being black (was so used to the salt covered grayish look, lol). Yeah, todays high was a balmy 34, tomorrows high is 39, then back down to the 20's. Oh what I wouldnt give for a day in the 50s...... But, Welcome to Michigan

Who else is battling the elements big time out there?

You have no idea. I don't think my cars have ever looked this bad. Over the weekend I couldn't stand it and had to spray the car down at the do it yourself wash. Its either getting snowed on or getting blasted by the melting.

An hour later with all the melting snow etc the car was back to looking awful. I am looking forward to some temp in the high 40's this weekend to get some detailing done.

We've had rain since Thursday of last week (and I guess my post count has reflected that!) so my car looks pretty bad too...I swear, there is a black car somewhere under all that muck! It is supposed to be nice the next three days but I doubt I will finish each day with enough daylight left to clean mine. I may just run my car through the touch free at the local Chevron station then go to the nearest coin-op and touch it up there.

Looks like your car cleaned up nicely. :)

Man, your car looks great! I don't know if those are your winter rims or if you painted your red ones, but I have to say that the black looks so much better! I don't mean any offense if you like the red, its just that I don't see many cars like yours that I like, but the teg looks so good!

p.s. please don't add a spoiler.

Thanks Lee: We're expecting 43* this Saturday. I'm supposed to do an H2, so it may actually be a *fun* detail day.

Matt: Yeah, I told my buddy from Palm City that people were in T-shirts today and he thought we were crazy :lol

No problems thus far with the EO. I applied it VERY thin and let it dry for 1.5 hrs in the sun. I think your friend might have applied too thick and/or not let dry long enough. I am only using this stuff because they give you 2 ounces free with your EO Tire Swipe purchase :D

I needed those pictures to remind me my car actually looked that bad. I was getting used to a grayish/red car :(

Ben Z: This is all winter trim. I am contemplating keeping it wingless for my summer trim. Here it is without a wing in summer trim:

BOOO wingless!!!! I am TOTALLY feeling your pain. i went out and washed my car today as well. it felt good. well, it felt good it was clean, it didn't feel good to wash it, thats for sure. very nipply out here. nice work on the wash.

Vernon

PS. i see there is still dirt on your tire tread.. tisk tisk tisk! haha

Mid 30's today in Western New York so that means it's time for a bucket wash. No wind & blue skies so it was a perfect January day.

Hit the wand wash to get the majority of crude off & rinsed the wheelwells/undercarriage well. Washing with yellow dishwashing gloves on makes it easy & effortless, my hands never got cold. Wash water was a bit warmer than usual but no where near too H-O-T.

I was even able to dry the car with no freezing & clean the glass inside & out 'cause it was sunny and the radiant heat kept the surface relatively warm while the air temp peaked at 38*.

My garage is unheated so I've got to keep my hose in the basement but I've got a tip for anyone who must store their hose in the basement during the winter. Whether you drain the hose or not before coiling it up, simply screw the ends together so you don't drip water all over the place when carrying it through the kitchen to the basement.

The #476s is holding up great at 3+ months of snow, ice, salt, and countless trips to the wand wash (rinse only). It still produces high, tight beads and the surface is slick as glass. So far, it lives up to the hype.

I also try to stay out of the curb lane because of the melting snow & puddles, no need to mess-up the car sooner than necessary.

We've had some poor conditions here. It was very cold (-30's C) for about a month and a half, now its warmed up to freezing point, and all the sand and salt on the roads is brutal. I can take the very cold weather, since everyting stays frozen, and its easy for me to maintain a clean vehicle. But this late winter/spring melt is just brutal.

Sean-

Just saw CT listed under your name. I'm probably moving to Hartford in May, I'd like to hit you up for some advice on my car when I get out there. Now that I think about it, I might just have to hire you to work some of your magic since I have a couple of paint issues that are a little beyond my skill level, will you be around? Your work always impresses me!

-Ben Z.

I should post some pictures of my winter ride: '88 plymouth horizon with a homebrewed 3 color paint job (mostly red). On second thought, I wouldn't want to be responsible for all of those tears!

Well, to make you guys feel better, check out my friend's beastly station wagon from when I was in NY on vacation...

I didn't take any pics of mine but I did run it through the touchless at Chevron then went to the coin-op to finish it up. Still water on it, so I sprayed it with Long Haul's Truck Gloss (see review in product discussion forum) a section at a time and dried. The towel got pretty dirty even though the touchless got it reasonably clean. I didn't see any swirls or marring so that is good. I finished off with another layer of Pink Wax.

I guess it will look good until it rains on Sunday.

At least I know Pink Wax is easy to use when it is 40 degrees.

Hey Scott, any pics of the Pink Wax now?

Sean: I think that's the best, and the worst I have seen your car!
