forever black? comments please?

i have these faded bumpers...how does forever black hold up? will it cover the grey areas in one swipe or leave it streaky?



does it dry gloss/matt ?



any comments or suggestions please?

I've used it my old explorer sport. The mirrors and black plastic on the doors and rear pillar were just faded to basically white/light grey. The key with forever black is the prep, must be totally clean (I believe they either provide a cleaner or tell you to use alcohol - it was many years ago). If you follow their directions, you get a very nice looking finish, basically the way it looked when it was new. I believe I gave min 2 coats to get the sheen that I wanted and to cover minor streaks. Depending on the area you do, you may want to give more or less coats. I would bank on at least 2 though for an even finish. Just becareful not to get any where you don't want it!



I found it help up very well for a couple of years and then I sold the truck! If I had to do it all over, I would still use the forever black!

Mine looked worse but it was a harder plastic so your bumper may require more coats since I have a hunch it may soak up much of the dye. You may want to pick up 2 bottles just in case. I think it will work great for you!
 
ok i went ahead and got some forever black...after 3 coats its alot better, but still patchy and not as uniform as i would like



any tips for even coverage?



also once its set up..can i use a trim dressing so that it matches the other trims
 
This is funny, I posted in one of your previous posts about this...everything I said would happen did. Maybe you should try gatorblack?
 
I would keep applying additional coats. I know my dad and I used it at the same time both on Ford trucks. He didn't prep his as well and kinda just threw on and I remeber I did more prep and was careful. I found that I didn't have any streaks, especially after the second coat everything was nice and even. I would try another coat. Once you get it to the darkness you like, you shouldn't need dressing. If you stick with what you have on now, let the sun hit it for a bit. After a few weeks with washes etc, it should def look even.
 
All I ever got was streaking and poor gloss although I always clay and VM the trims before hand as they are dull brown and not black before hand
