Hi Scottwax,
I just ordered a small bottle of Quick & Easy Wash from
Protectall. Pat and Ken over there say you are the Q+E
guru. They seem like nice fellows. Do you mind sharing
some of your tricks with us droughtees. You mention some
steps in your prior post about Q + E.
I called the NY DEP today and they said the only option you
have is to go get some bottled spring water and have a
receipt on you. They said if you get caught with tap water in
a bucket you can be fined. Even rain water cause you can't
prove it's origin. So I went and got some of those 2.5 Gal
jugs at the supermarket for around 2 bucks a piece.
Not a bad deal when you compare to an automatic car wash
which my car will never see cause they scratched my last car.
Some things Protectall was nice enough to enlighten me with.
1- Don't use more product then specified. It's not going to help.
2- Use 2 gallons to start but once you get good at it you will
lower to about 1 gallon. They also said if you wash frequently
there is no need for the 2 bucket system.
3- Don't use the product if your car is extremely dirty.
4- Dip Mitt or media, wipe-on, and dry-off One Section at a Time.
Maybe you can add some Q & E tricks.
A few questions :
What kind of wash media do you recommend? Mitt or Towel.
Can Q & E be used in sunlight or should you do it in shade at
late day or early morning?
What do you dry with? Is a Fieldcrest OK?
Your tips will help many of us drought stricken Autopians.
Thanks,
RD
