This is a 37 stage detail on a recently purchased ST. Swirl wasn't too heavy, but it definetly needed some TLC.
First, the wheels. NEVER been cleaned behind the spokes by the look of it.
About 6 different brushes, some AS Ali shine, Valet Pro blue gel, AS Smart wheels and lots of tickling, and they came up nice.
They had lots of fall out contamination that had been there since it came of the train. It was starting to rust in places. So just in time to save wheel damage, it was removed with Megs Aggressive clay. Here's the results on the clay.
Now the bodywork had a soak in some warm citrus degreaser.
Then after rinsing, and washing, on to claying. CYC yellow poly clay was used, and did a good job. Here's the clay after.
Next up, freshen up the interior. Here's a pic of my assistant, Charles. Don't be fooled, he's not as shy as he looks.
Last bit before closing the doors, clean and wax the jams.
Now the exhaust, Autosol and Megs All Metal.

Here's the swirl, the best I could capture.
After a few test combos, the chosen direction for correction was rotary was Sonus SFX2 pad and Menz. FF PO106FA.
Here's the test area.
and some 50/50. Not very clear but visible.
After completing the whole vehicle, the finish just didn't seem right, so a second run using the PC, Sonus SFX2 pad and SFX3 polish was used to lift the finish. This gave the improvement.
Here are some direct sun pics.
Now Carlack NSC was used as the pre-wax cleaner, on wheels also, the shine looked good even under this -
I've never detailed this colour ST before, so couldn't really decide on LSP. So after consulting James at Auto Finessse, who I knew had detailed a few of these, I took his advice on BOS giving the best results. A problem though - I only had a little left in the pot, and like to put 2 coats on as a minimum, so I used my current fav. Petes '53 as a first layer, then after leaving to cure, applied a layer of BOS, and threw the empty pot in the bin...
Here are the final pics, NOTE : the first pic has a faint line down the bonnet, on the passenger side, it's a plane trail reflection, not a hologram.
Thanks for reading.
