Foam Canon What Off The Shelf Soap To Use?

Here is a pic of my last wash with Megs Gold Class, probably about 1 minute after I sprayed it on (I did spray on an already wet car, so it has a tendency to run a little quicker). I used a Karcher 3050 PW with a Camspray foam lance, with the mix in the middle. The Megs was ok, but its nothing close to either my DP or CG Maxisud shampoos. With the foam lance, they can put out some thick foam! Im less impressed with my foam gun...its great for constant flushing while washing, but not that impressed with the foaming compared to the lance.

yeah, exactly what my car looks like. i'm going to wash with my car dry this weekend so the foam sticks. i need it to stick like shaving creme so it can penetrate the dirt.

I love these things. I dont know how much I would be able to control myself if I had one. I imagine myself foaming everything in site including the house, which im sure wouldnt really go over well..

EXACTLY what I did...I used the foam lance on the house, the driveway, etc...anything I was using soap on was ran thru the lance! The "new toy" shine has worn off some at this point, but it does help, especially washing the house. Id foam a section or two, let it sit for a few, and then then pressure wash as normal. Seems like everything come off easy enough. I didnt use it on the back of the house, and seemed like it didnt come as clean.

i have realized that i do not think it is the water, or soap i am using at this point. upon reading many threads over and over i have realized that the problem lies in the pressure washer i am using. the pressure washer i am using only can output a rated 1500psi. the foam lance was designed for 1600psi and more. when i read reviews of people who are able to produce nice THICK foam that sticks for a very long time they do note that they only back out their knob 1-2 turns out from full close. with my configuration anything less than 4 turns out causes the gun to choke up and not spray. this is most likely due to the lack of pressure being outputted from my washer.

someone correct me if i'm wrong but when watching video's of professionals using a foam lance to foam cannon they are using a HIGH power gas pressure washer. i believe those are rated at 2400psi and the foam that is created is like serious shaving creme.

Barry, Ive seen video of folks using the smaller plastic Karcher pressure washers and producing decent foam. I dont know what setting they had the lance set to, but it was a decent foam. Mine is rated to 3000 PSI, and getting good foam out of mine took some playing around with. One thing to note is not to "prewash" before foaming...seems to cling a little better. Ive heard that it has a lot to do with the water itself (minerals and the like), but I have never verified that.
