Decided to try a poly sealant for the winter. I used to be a carnuba man, but insane beads seemed to lead to minor etches, since I live in a large city/industrial area. I have tried many of the FK products, S100, PSS, u name it...it came down between UPP & FMJ. Gave FMJ the nod, thought it might be more durable, plus the shine is considered pretty much equal to PS.

Bought the 32oz. bottle. I was not disappointed.

FMJ was the easiest to apply, easiest to wipe off, product I have ever used. Applied to hood in full sun, 56 degrees, MF glided across when I took it off. I waited till it became overcast, and applied the rest with a PC, 4" white cyclo pad. I left it on for a hour. It came off effortlessly. In fact I used only 2 dragon-MF towels to remove, for the whole car. And I could have gotten by with only 1, but used the 2nd to do the final wipe around. To me, FMJ is the holy grail of LSP's. I cannot see myself using anything else. There was zero dusting, and my pinstriping had no buildup on it, either. The slickness was a 10 out of 10. In fact I tried to put a second coat on my lower panels, and the applicator had trouble making contact, because it was that slick. It turned dark, before I could get some good day pics, sun was not out anyway. Snagged a few nite pics, of my daily driver w/FMJ, although they aren't the best, shows a bit of the gloss.

I've been a huge advocate of FMJ for a long time, but no one really seems to give it much credit or attention here. I've tried many sealents, but FMJ is always my goto. It's a little more expensive than others, but it's VERY durable, and VERY easy to apply. Buffing it off is actually enjoyable :) Give their HGAS a try to boost the FMJ sealent, I've found it very easy to work with as well :)



I found FMJ to REALLY bring out the mettalic flake on my black Skyline. Here's a flake shot after prepping and selaing with a few layers of FMJ.

Thx, nice pop on your metallic, too. Haven't had sun for the last 2 days here, so hard to tell about the AZ biege metallic on mine. Had some sparkle at night. Few more pics, overcast, no sun, but nice gloss. MG's Insane tire shine on the tires.....

I love FMJ also. I settled on it as my favourite after doing a side-by-side comparison with three of Megs products: #20, #21, and #26. FMJ gave the clearest reflections, and was also the most durable.

It's easily on-par or better than KSG. I havent' done very many controlled tests to proove this, but based on my observations I would say it outlasted a layer of KSG.



One thing I did notice, was that it didn't properly bond when I used RMG previous to it. From what I've read though, many other quality sealents also have a problem bonding properly to RMG, so Im not that worried about it.
 
Full Molecular Jacket/properautocare I have had it in my arsenal for a long time. Like they said it is very easy to work with. I also use the Acrylic booster (good product). IMO

hint*, pay $10 more and get the 32oz refill. You can apply by hand or machine, it is by far the easiest on/off sealant I have ever used. At the website it claims the shine is about equal to PS.

Haven't used it yet, letting the 2 coats of FMJ cure in, want to see how it holds up to a wash with MG gold class shampoo also. I had drooled long enough over some of the other member's work on their cars with PS, and other high end brands. This defintely took my paint to the next level. Don't be scared to leave this product on for a hour, either. Wipes off with no effort, no dust. It is a water-based, polymer paint protectant. I will try UPP one day, just to compare.

I have FMJ and found it to look great initially, but durability was poor at best. My surface was prepped with FPII. Just my $.02. The easiest and worst smelling product I have used :bolt

How long ago was this? I detected no smell at all myself. Guess I was used to getting a head rush from PW, FK1000P, etc... when opening the can. I hardly smelled FMJ.

Actually I have no idea how old the bottle is, I purchased it from another member. It smells like old socks.

FMJ used to me my favorite (in fact, I've applied it to about 150 or so cars) because the slickness is exceptional, and it's so easy to apply and remove, but it has a couple drawbacks. The main drawback is that it tends to leave residue on trim (I won't say it stains necessary, just has a slight tendancy to leave white residue). The second (very minor) drawback is that it has a high oil content and on perfectly polished jet black paint, it leaves noticable waves of lines in whichever direction you last buff with the towel...it's gone after the first wash, though I don't like turning it over to customers with these lines (even if they are slight). I had a few bottles, and once I finish this last one I propably won't buy any more...let's go RDF 49.
 
I tried FMJ for the first time this weekend on my wife's '03 G35 coupe and was also quite impressed with the results. The finish was super-slick and really made the Caribbean Blue metal-flake pop. I will likely put a second layer on next weekend.



I will then likely try some on my '97 black BMW 540i where I presently have KSG; perhaps I'll try a section and do a comparison.

Has anyone used the Menzerna FTG under the FMJ, and what were the results? Did the FMJ keep the glaze in place, or did it all disappear with the application of FMJ? (Or none of the above?)

After returning from the FK & DG route, I recently enjoyed an FMJ experience (still better/easier than Z) ... wait'll you hit it with DG's AW! :woot2:
 
I had a sample of FMJ that I really liked but that was about the same time Werkstatt products came out and I get everything I got from FMJ at a lower cost. If the price was equal, I'd probably use it because the application is so goof proof. Not that AJ is hard, but you have to make sure not to leave any thick spots during application.

I have used FMJ with the FTG glaze underneath on my black car, and found it added depth to the finish, more like a carnuba, but not quite. I love it for the ease of use and the slickness. I have HGAS and use that as a QD after each wash, seems to attract the dust, but it keeps the water beading and the surface slick.
 
I've used FMJ a fair bit and really like it. I have not been using it on my dark cars as I like the WG & BF look, but I do prefer it over everything else on my light colors, especially if they are metallic.



Everything said about ease on and off I have also found and agree with.



I do use HGAS on top of all sealants that I use and really like it - never streaks, leaves a great gloss, etc.
