I'll let the pictures do most of the talking but I will say I am very impressed with FMJ all around it ranks at the top.

Prep inlcuded:

Dawn wash to remove previous Zaino

Compund Hood with Menzerna PG (had bad etching)

Polish entire car with Menzerna IP (orange power pad)

Polish entire care with Menzerna FP II (actually is better than FP I)

Applied Menzerna Finishing Touch Glaze with PC at speed 2 (not that bad , further testing need)

Applied FMJ by hand with MicroFinger (These applicators are great)

how would you compare it to the zaino?

I can chime in on this one.

Easier to use. Goes on and off just as easily if not more so. Deeper look to it with similar reflectivity.

On the other side, it loses it's slickness a lot more quickly, and I don't think it will last quite as long (although I don't know for sure, just a hunch on my part. It's still very durable. I only waited three months before reapplication, and it was going strong.) Also pretty pricey, although it's not so bad once you combine the price of Z2, Z5, and ZFX.

I too love the FMJ... I followed a similar pattern as well:

Washed with Menzerna shampoo wash-not real impressed with the suds...

FP II with White Pad

AIO with White Pad

FMJ with Microfiber applicator.. 2 coats..

Goes on soooo easy and comes off just as well... it is so slick and I think it will stand the test for a durable sealant as well...

Sorry I haven't replied to my own thread I've been remodeling my garage so not much time for the computer. Ok now I'll answer the questions:

MattZ28 , the application & removal where a breeze , I used the microfinger pad to apply and it went on like melting ice. Removal was just as easy , no hard buffing at all , whether I left on to just haze or left it for 2hrs.

l33 , I too thought the PG was difficult to remove at first but then I followed some very good advice , mist the pad with water before and during buffing and then work it and then work it some more until it's all but gone. Buffs of just as easy as anything else and very very little dust. When I wasn't doing these two things it dusted alot and was impossile to remove. Your second question was how do I compare FMJ to Zaino , I am/was a hardcore Zaino user so I know the product well , I say FMJ is Zaino made easier!

All in all I really like the Menzerna product line and now with FMJ it has a permanent home in my shop. My customers seem to really see a difference from Zaino to FMJ so I'll be continuing to use it for some time.

GSRstilez , check your PM , and thanks for posting my pictures!

Most of my regulars are saying that it has more of a wow factor. It seams to have more of a glow about it then Zaino. It has that very glossy wet look but it also has depth without mutting the paint. That and the slickness has been a huge factor , everyone loves touching their newly detailed car and everyone who I've used FMJ on has said it feels slicker than what they are used too, with Zaino that is.

Are you using the Surbuf pads when you say Microfinger? No micro-marring?

I too use Menzerna quite a bit as I have the entire line with the newer polish for Ceramiclear finishes.

Problem most people have with Menzerna is they are NOT designed for deetail use. The products are OEM use only. What that means is it's used on the production line and speed is the key. They do touch-up repairs with it. All ISO type level of work, ie: x-milligrams polish on y-pad on rotary polisher set at z-speed for w-long.

Menzerna Micro polish makes the finishes come out to a mirror shine! WIt a soft pad, so the polish does the burnishing, man is it bright!

Have quarts of all products and always use them on finishes that I want to stand out

Deanski

How can u tell if the car's finish is Ceramiclear?? I've never heard of that other than clearcoat finish. Thanks for the help.

Deanski , yup I'm using the Surbuf pads for the application of FMJ. As for what you said about Menzerna being OEM and people having trouble with the products , I couldn't agree more. When I first started using them I was doing it all wrong, too much product not buffing it long enough or too long. Here's what I found to work very well , since these polishes are meant for fast production line work they need the heat created by the rotary. I've found that they can work very well with the PC , being that the PC doesn't create alot of heat it requires you to work the polishes in longer than with the rotary. I've found that working with the PC and Menzerna can be very rewarding if you use the right procedure , and mist the pads before and during buffing. Your very right about the finish menzerna leaves it's very clean and crisp. Deanski , I also PM'd you. Thanks
