Problem is the flex rotates in the opposite direction due to the forced rotation gearing. dedication to detail had to rework the threads for this adapter to work.

Well, that puts the kibosh on it then.

I disagree, why wouldn't 3M continue to provide an Edge adapter for the Makita DA just like they do for the other DA's and rotaries? The reason I don't believe that they will continue to make the Flex adapter is that they have to buy the backing plate from Flex and modify it and I just can't see 3M doing it. However, if that piece from the Makita kit has the reverse threads, we just need to make the piece that bolts to the Flex backing plate (and perhaps the attaching screw), and of course modify the backing plate.
