Flex/PC

I'm in the process of taking the plunge and buying a PC but before ordering I have come across the Flex products as per link attached;

http://www.flex-tools.com/en/index.htm

They have a UK retailer but there are various polishers offered and I'm not sure which is comparable with the PC7424.

Maybe someone has some inside/user knowledge of Flex products. I believe they are a subsidiary.sister co to PC in the US.

All advice gratefully received.

~One man’s opinion~

A German college and I were talking cars a few week-ends ago and I was using the PC, and his comment was that they have the same thing in Germany but it’s called a ‘Flex’. As far as I know they are very similar.

I e-mailed Lowejackson a few weeks ago on this, he said he would look into it. So you might want to check with him also.

Thanks for that! Will see if Steven sees this post or will PM him.

I was simply a bit concerned about importing a PC as you have to use a step down transformer to make it compatible with UK mains voltage, not sure whether guarantee still valid and Flex appear to have a UK dealer (Colchester).

Maybe some other UK people can chip in here with their views/experiences?

I could not find many references to the flex apart from some costs in Europe. Expect to pay around 200 or so Pounds, that puts it in the same price range as the Makita BO6070(?).

I am a PC authorized dealer so maybe I can help-or make things more confusing.:) Flex is owned by PC, but Flex makes the polishers. I'm not sure if Flex sells a DA. They are really known for their stone cutting and finishing tools. The machine mentioned above does look pretty close. If you check out the accesories, they also look pretty close to the PC DA. Unfortunately, that model isn't shown in my Flex price book.

If you want to go rotary, the Flex that is most similar to the 7428 is the Flex LK603 V V. Here are the specs.

Maximum pad diameter-220mm

speed-1000-3000 RPM

Power input-1150 Watts/10 amps

Power output-800 Watts

Weight-3.4 kg

Thanks everyone. However, Alex Creasey and I have decided to order a PC each - from Autopia!

I'd say watch out Scottwax......hey, I can dream, can't I???!!!!
