Flex, PC, Pads.

I have a few questions I'll just post them below.

My flex has a slight wobble from side to side, this only really occurs if I have no hand on the top of the machine while I'm polishing. Is this from my pad being slightly off center?

Now that I own a flex, and I'm using 6.5" pads, I was looking into upgrading or down sizing my PC pads. I think having the 4" pads on the PC would help me hit tight areas when polishing. What do you think about this?

best place to get 3-1/2 or a little smaller backing plate and 4" flat pads?

Thanks

The "wobble" is probably from placing the pad off center. As far as smaller backing plate and smaller pads, they're not available yet for flex. I wish they were.

There are a few people who have "shaved down" the backing plate to accept smaller pads.

I actually like the 6.5" for my Flex, I now want to downsize my 6.5" PC pads to 4" for tight areas.

Troy, as soon as I finish a few cars and get some cash, I'll be ordering them. Want to get the money back to pay for Flex first.
I have a black Lexus (that I did a test area on) A Tinted silverish G35, A black CTS, A silver A6, and a Black and A blue jetta.
I also have Friends of there's that are interested in a detail, But I have not seen there cars. I think one is a black Lincoln LS.

Just have to find the time and schedule them in, Its hard because of my job, so I only have weekends and sometimes they are limited also.

I would say put your hand on the top of the motor while using the Flex. It has more power than the PC. Their is no rocket science to centering the pad, just make sure you have as close to the same distance all around the edge of the pad.

You can get the smaller backing plates and pads (4") from Detail City.
