I think it was DK that said he liked this product, and that it contained no silicone. Well, I just found some in the autoparts store..and guess what ingredient the clever guys at Turtle Wax came up with?

I don't know about trilicone but the stuff lays down a pretty good shine and it doesn't sling off on to the rear panels
 
I'm looking into buying this machine for my vettes . I will be using it for correction and jeweling . Will the 1100 rpm lowest speed pose any problems for C5 and C6 OEM paint ?

Also, does it have a "feathering" switch to spread polish easier?

Vette clears are very hard so I would say finishing at 1100 shouldnt be a problem, for very soft clears than maybe a machine with a 600rpm starting speed would be better.

Generally speaking, when correcting and finishing with a rotary, do you have to start at a lower speed and increase throughout?

Always... with the exception of using a compound like M105, that you need to work hard and fast.


Sread polish at 600-1000, break it down around 1200 and correct between 1500-1800rpm, if needed you can go up to 2100+. After correcting bring it back down the same way to get a nice leveled finish without holograms. Focus on really refining the paint at lower RPM when doing correction.
 
A very nice machine. I had 2 of them for a while back when I used a rotary. If you are just detailing your vette or other car, it will be fine. If you run it for a long time with a larger foam pad, it will over heat. Sometimes even a 6.5" pad with SIP on softer clears will cause it to over heat.

Wool is not a problem at all, no matter what size the pad.
