Well, I purchaed a pcxp the couple months ago and just don't find i have the patience for it to do its thing...I'm even using M105/205 and it does cut nicely with 4" pads but need to do lots of passes...I'm considering the Flex 3401 or should I just go to a rotary and put the time and effort into learning it...I can practice on my wifes beater car...Will a Flex 3401 do as much as a rotary in a comparable amount of time...? I think I would prefer the Flex but want to double check with this group as I don' want to make the wrong purchase decision AGAIN! thanks in advance...

rotary will all be the fastest way to correct paint. the flex is considerably faster that the pc but slower than the rotary. the flex will be easier to learn and master opposed to the rotary. all three are fully capable of destroying your paint just at different speeds. a moment of inattention with the rotary will cause a burn mark where the same moment of inattention with the pc or flex will not burn the paint. if speed is your goal than rotary is the tool, if speed is not as important then the flex will be the way to go.

Depends on what you are using this machine for. By that I mean, if you are doing only your own personal cars, then a flex will do. However, if you are planning to do this as a part-time job, then get a rotary.

yes, eventually i would't mind doing a few of my buddy's cars for a couple bucks here and there...

Careful, buddy deals can really suck the life outta ya... probably lots of examples buried within the posts here.

I have a PC XP and wish I had gotten a rotary to learn on, of course there have been a few times already I have have burned thru some paint if I had lol... Hoping to get one soon, did my whole car with the PC XP and it took forever, like 7 hours to polish the whole car and I didn't get ALL the scratches out.
