Well, as alot of you know, I just started my business (full time) about 5 months ago.. The first picture is the day I bought my truck and trailer. Since then, I have gotten ALOT of new equipment and products. Recently bought some very high dollar equipment. I have learned that Home Depot machinery doesnt last long in the mobile detailing field. So here are some pics of the rig and whats inside..

THE PRESSURE WASHER IS ON LOAN FROM MY LOCAL RETAILER.. (I BURNED UP MY HOME DEPOT PW 2 DAYS AGO)

008-3.jpg

THE GENERATOR IS BRAND NEW. BOUGHT IT TODAY. HOPE ITS A GOOD ONE!

009-3.jpg

I PURCHASED THIS 50 FOOT HOSE AND GUN A FEW WEEKS AGO.. FANTASTIC COMBINATION. NO NEED FOR A WAND. IT IS SO MUCH EASIER TO GET IN FENDERWELL AND BEHIND WHEELS NOW..

010-3.jpg

EVEN MY WASH BUCKETS HAVE THE GRAPHICS!

011-4.jpg

MY AIR COMPRESSOR (WHICH I ONLY USE FOR TAKING WHEELS ON AND OFF AND AIR DRYING THE CRACKS/CREVICES ON A CAR) IS STILL A HOME DEPOT POS..

I USE A RETRACTABLE AIR HOSE REEL.

HERE IS THE 'LOANER PRESSURE WASHER'. WAY TOO MUCH JUICE FOR MY NEEDS, BUT IT WILL WORK TILL FRIDAY.

016-6.jpg

EVEN MY GAS CAN (YES I KNOW ITS A DIESEL CAN, BUT IT WAS THE ONLY ONE THEY HAD WITH THE COOL RELEASE VALVE AT THE TIME) HAS ITS OWN PLACE.

017-7.jpg

HERE IS THE FRONT OF MY TRUCK NOW. ALL BLACKED OUT. I HAD SOME LEFTOVER BLACK PERFORATED VINYL AND IT WORKED OUT GREAT ON THE HEADLIGHTS.

HERE IS THE PRESSURE WASHER I HAVE ON ORDER (WILL BE IN ON FRIDAY). ITS A BELT DRIVE, WHICH I HEAR IS MORE RELIABLE. ITS A KARCHER.

I KEEP MY BUSINESS LICENSE HANGING ON THE WALL..

I KNOW THE INSIDE IS NOT ALL FANCY WITH THE VINYL CHECKERED FLOORS AND POLISHED ALUMINUM SHELVING, BUT I HAVE YET TO HAVE A CUSTOMER SNOOP AROUND IN MY TRAILER. ITS THE OUTSIDE THAT COUNTS.

Damn I guess you jumped head in! I hope to be able to do the same thing in couple of years..

The wrap is amazing, I think I rememeber a thread of how you redid this guys bathroom, and he did the whole wrap for the trailer..

Everything looks amazing, dont worry about everything being all fancy, I like how everything has a home, and secured!

pretty blatant spamming right there...I "accidently" had my work vehicle with logo exposed in some C&B threads and was told to take them down...

Got my quick disconnects and double sided pads in today. Looking forward to trying them out tommorow. Also got the brush attachments as well. I really think they are gonna work nice!

I thought you got put on time out or banned on your other user name. Also, didnt you make another thread like this before? ALSO, your not allowed to post your number and such so you either have to blur it out or take down the pictures. These are the type of post that get people banned. Other than all that, setup seems good.

Very cool setup you have. A lot of investment!

Do you take wheels off on every detail? Do you always supply your own electricity or just when there is none available? I would think it would get expensive fast if you always used it.

Also, do you torque the lugs to a certain spec, or just run them down with the impact?

I was wondering why he was reposting this, and why he only had 22 posts... oh well....

Run them with the impact. Torques them down fine.. And i take wheels off on 90% of my details. I use a power source if it is available (home details). Alot of my customers have me detail thier vehicle while they are at work, so I use my generator. I also have a 3000 watt inverter that I run my Cyclo off of so i dont have to use the generator. But the vac and the air compressor sucks way too much juice for an inverter..

And thanks for the compliment. I have invested alot in the business, but not as much as you may think.. Trailers brand new, all equipment brand new, truck is an 01'. About 10k total invested..

i apologize for posting my phone number.. Didnt realize it was such a big issue.. And as far as being on a 'time out', I was told to 'check my attitude at the door or I was going on a permanent vacation'. I fail to see where my 'attitude' violated any rules on the site.. But like I said, if the admins decide to 'permaban' me, I will create a new name and just lay back and be a non-posting lurker.. I dont wanna do that because i enjoy conversating with you guys, but i guess it is what it is..

IMO/FYI most impacts OVER tighten the lugs and can/do

warp the rotors

you should really use a touque wrench to put them back on

to spec. (usually around 100 Ft/Lbs) as you impact prob. is 3X that

Very interesting. Looks to be a great setup/money maker (at least I hope it is!) Not a bad investment either considering many businesses require much much more. Good luck with everything man!

That's why I was asking about the impact :) Better than having the wheels fall off, but overtorqued lugs can "warp" rotors. I'm sure you do the star pattern though which will drastically reduce the risk, but it's still there.

Have you ever had issues with crossthreaded studs or one twisting/breaking? When I first started working on cars I was changing my Mom's struts and I busted a stud and I've been terrified of taking wheels off since then haha. Knock on wood, but it hasn't happened again!

well, my impact is set to the right torque i need it. My process involves breaking the lugs, lifting the car, use impact to take off wheels, clean wheels, clean fenders, put wheels back on, start lugs by hand, tighten down with impact. I have rubber coated sockets to prevent damage to lugs.

thanks for the info Jim. I will use my impact, then check the torque with a torque wrench to see where my impact stops at.

Hummm, I am conflicted. On the one hand part of me remembers you to be a gigantic toolbag, on the otherhand you have a cyclo so maybe you arn't that bad. Time will tell :D

But yea, I'd only use the impact gun to break the wheels off. Just looking at it I'd guess it's good for something like 350ft-lbs.....most lug nuts go on between 75 and 100ft-lbs. Don't want to go too much or you can damage the stud.

When you say you have it set to the proper torque, I ahve no idea how you've done that. The only way, to my knowledge, to specifically limit torque to, say, 90ftlbs, on an impact gun is with a torque stick

Don't forget about stud damage - I've seen that many many times. Also seen lug nuts get seized onto the stud. Good luck removing that :nervous2:

One time a few years ago I didn't feel like doing my brakes, so I took my car to a local gas station that does pretty good work. When I got it back I decided to check the torque and I cracked a 1/2" drive Craftsman socket trying to get them off...good luck on the side of the road with the sheetmetal lug wrench that's in the car...

Yup, I see you getting banned. Your IP will be on lock so your home computer won't be able to make another user name. You just come here with this negative attitude posting up your information and your detailing rig. You already posted that stuff before. IF someone wants your services, they will let you know.
