Are you talking about the Brinkmann MaxFire Xenon Rechargeable Flashlight?

I was looking into getting another flashlight after my other was lost.

I have a Sure-fire that fits in my pocket that's brighter than my 4dcel maglight. They are pricey but there is NOTHING brighter. LED cannot compare. I don't however think they would be good for constant use. The battery drains pretty quick as they were designed for personal defense by blinding and attacker or in conjunction with a handgun. Just my $.02.

well i just bought one of the ones that richard showed...then I walked past this blue BMW on the way to my place, asked the girl i was with to check it out and tell me what she thinks, and then i hit it with the light...I was blown away with the amount of swirling and scratches all over...(it was sort of in the shade, by damn, this light did what I wanted) i might end up with a bigger one later as this one is a little small and I have to get kinda close to check the work...Ill keep my eye on the surefire G3

Glad it worked for you. Because of the size, it stays with me all the time, so I'm never without a light to check a car. Course it's not my primary light, but it's very convenient. Not to mention for lighting the way as a traditional light. When I first bought it, I also checked the cost of the replacement batteries, cause you know, you buy a light, and find that the batteries cost as much as the light itself--I was pleasantly surprised that the batteries were cheap--so after my 70,000 hours of use, or whatever it is--it'll only be a few bucks to keep going. =)

Get this, I keep one in each car I have. If a customer gives you an undeserved hassle, you can always punch a hole in their skull with it. Its incandescent, they run about $110 each, but there is an LED conversion kit!

This is for info-not spam. Look at a site called Candle Power. Look at the forums. Everything you want to know.

I recall a posting from someone a long time ago that linked to the Candle Power forum. It was of a setup in some guy's backyard that showed a gargantuan beam of light that looked like it could reach Mars! Those guys are insane! :)
