Flaking Clear......?

Ok, seems like I need to elaborate.....2005 malibu just comes out of paint our window guy..... USA Windows replaces broken windows or such at our body shop,he tears off some masking and some how rips up some clear coat...leaving in all the worst places(sail rail) some peeling clear coat...the boss lets me know the deal...(I NEED THIS CHOP CHOP) on top of the regular inside and out, cut and buff and hitone(wax/seal)...on top of all the other cars coming out at me..so I stall him the car gets sent out to a local car wash while I try to get caught up...at the end of the day they end up repainting the sail rail leaving a little overspray and then its just cut and buff...what I did learn was exactly how to handel peeling(fresh) clear coat...its a lttle difficult to explain but here ya go...2000 against the peeling edge till you can barely see it then 3000 w/ the DA...then polish in same direction as your sand marks and there you go....gott'er done next time I'll try and explain my situation a little better.........OG

I guess I'm still confused. Somehow a window guy removed CC with masking tape, you have it repainted, sent it to a car wash, wet sanded and then buffed? Doesn't sound like a place that I would want to go if the window people are ripping up paint with a piece of tape. So was the area just reshot with paint or clear? I think that for a complete job that the whole panel would have to be repainted or there is a chance that it will come up again I believe.

Well b-cuz it was a sail rail (and I wasnt in the booth) I assume it was repainted(including cc) but that tape was put into a small top belt molding area still dont understand..right above your window on rear door(4door) to tape off window the masking tape is put into the belt molding to prevent overspray...the window guy pulled off the tape the wrong way(prolly rushing) with cc on tapped area and sail rail.He ripps up about 4 inches of cc thats the best way I can explain it but maybe another bodyshop guy can elaborate more srry for not being clear enuf and if still not we'll I tried..........OG
