Fk425

For those of you who use FK425, does this QD work best over a sealant or a Carnauba? Does it matter? Does it mute the look of either?

I've used it over both waxes and sealant and didn't notice any muting *but* it does impart a brighter look to the finish.

Have your tried it on top of UPGP? Does it work better than the Ultima QD?

I haven't used 425 with PGP. I can give it a shot tomorrow and post my findings.

Great, I'll be looking forward to it. I have been thinking of getting 425, but I'll wait for your review.

I haven't found any situation where it doesn't add to the look. Good tip on the Opti Seal, I'll try that today.

EDIT: Just tried it over two coats of Opti Seal applied yesterday. I didn't think more bling was possible but there sure is.....amazing! Thanks.

On my black car, I notice that if I use FK425 over a nuba (S100 or Natty's Blue), I get a lot of smearing and I end up wiping more than usual to remove smearing. However, on sealants such as DG105, NXT and EXP, I get none.

On my red SUV however, FK425 on nuba or sealant is just fine.

I talked to FK and they told me that it may perhaps be the carnauba that causes the smearing when I QD wih 425. They just suggested that I QD with 425 when using a sealant.

Thanks for that info.

425 worked just fine over PGP today. It brought up the slickness nicely as well.
