FK425, OCW, Clearkote Quik shine, or adams detail spray

I have and use #425, QS, and OCW. I normally use Optimum No Rinse to wash and I love using OCW after washing with ONR before I dry the car. I often use it after every wash. I use the #425 for light dust removal and bug cleaning. I like the QuickShine for the best possible look on my car. It works great on sealants and on carnauba. When the 425 runs out I will only be using the QS. It is my favorite QD ..... period. The OCW looks great and lasts a lot longer but it cannot be used to clean and since you need a QD from time to time QS is a must in my arsenal. I plan to keep both OCW and QS on hand but if I could only use one it would have to be QS.

425 is absoulutely one of the top three detailing products I have ever used and you should see the cabinet of half used products I have at least a dozen different brands. I had a black daily driver so I probably cleaned and evaluated products with far far to much regularity.

anyhoo...

425 for me is like putting a car cover on the car. It won't make you say "OH MY GOD WHAT!!"

But it will preserve that 10/10's looks you see after you just finished that 2 hour detailing session for a ridiculus amount of time. There are a couple of proucts, not many, that will produce a similar slickness but FK have low cost and cheap shipping and you can buy a gallon of it making it even more cost effective.

After a wash I would spray on Optimum spray wax, two applications for full coverage. And then one application of 425. Right now I'm using Aqua wax which is also very cheap for the EXCELLENT results under my 425. Make sure you use the short side of the MF to avoid streaking because 425 is a very thick liquid.

I agree with you that the 425 is a great product, but THICK???

Mine is thin as water (and always was).

I recently purchased 425... It looks great (I use it after a wash), but I wish it was slicker during application. Unfortunately, it drags a little with some of my (quality) MF towels; although, I do have certain MF's that apply 425 somewhat easier. The other QD's I have, like QS for example, do not have this trait. Exclusive of this issue, I like 425.

I would have to disagree that 425 is like spraying water on your car. WHen you turn the dial to stream it has a viscosity nothing like water. It will slowly trickle down the side of the car. And if you don't spread it and let it dry it will look syrup on your paint. It makes sense since the super slickness has to come from somewhere. Whatever ingredient it is that gives it ultra slickness has to have a certain viscosity.

anyhoo...I have probably 30 detailing products. I would withtout hesitation say that 425 is the most valuable player.

Pink Wax 2x's+ AquaWax 1x+ 425 1x
