FK425 as drying aid

First of all I did not recommend using Meg's USW. But I'm glad it worked out for you.
Hey Rsurfer, took your suggestion and tried some Meguiars Ultimate Spray Wax I had in the cabinet as my drying aide - worked really well. Is there a concern using a spray wax 1x week creating wax build up/cloudiness or because it's so diluted there's no need for concern?

Your paint, at some point, is only going to hold so much product. I would not be concerned at all about wax cloudiness or build-up.

Thanks Todd, still trying to find which drying aide I like best. Hard to make a wrong choice but the Meguiars Ultimate Spray Wax seems to do a very nice job, as I'm sure any of the spray waxes would. Until this thread, hadn't thought of using a spray wax in that capacity. The paint finished great!

tried it this morning. misted the jeep down before i dryed it. NO DRAMA. it made drying a little quicker. but the difference was the SHINE it left.

It has been suggested to me that when using a drying aide, spray and wipe one panel at a time, rather then the spritzing the entire vehicle. Seems to work great for me.

I agree.

I spray a panel or two at a time and then wipe them down. It always seems to work well for me. Depending on temp and humidity will detrimine how large of an area I do at a time.

I use detail spray after i dry the car with a blow dryer..my car is black..worst color ever when it comes to drying haha...my thing is it leaves streaks...so how do i use the spray to not leave streaks? Whats the corrext way to qd my car?

I use a MasterBlaster dryer as well. If you are using a QD here are the steps I use.

1 Use the blower to get 75 - 80% of the water off the surface and crevices.
2 Spray QD on one panel at a time and buff off.
3 Do this around the entire car.
4 Done

Yes but whwn i do that i see streaks....bothers the crap out of me

Hmm...

What QD are you using?
How large of an area are you working?
What is the LSP on the car?
How many sprays per panel?

Sorry for all the questions, but the more info we have the better chance we have to help or trouble shoot your problem.

Right now im using adams detail spray.
I do a panel at a time...door..then fender...etc etc
1 maybe two sprays..afraid od rubbing the towel dry against the paint...and what is lsp?

Ok, I will start by saying I have not used any of the Adams products.

With that out of the way there are a few things to try to remedy the problem. In my experience streaking is usually caused from using too much product.

The first thing I would try is using half the current amount.

The second option is to try spraying your QD into the towel and then buffing each panel. This will help you use less product because you will be able to if you are applying the product or not.

A third thing to try is to spread and buff with one side of the MF towel then flip it and do a final buff to get all the remaining residue.

If you are using a high quality MF towel and little to no pressure you should be fine and not scratching or marring the paint.
