FK425 as drying aid

It's my go to product as both a drying aide and a quick detailer and I've never had a streaking problem, and I use it in the hot south FL sun. Outstanding product +1. Another excellent product is Optimum's Gloss Enhancer.

i did notice when i use it as a QD it really pops the finish. guess this is not interfering with my BF protection i currently have?

On Nick's recommendation, I just bought and tried Poorboys QD+ and so far, it seems like an excellent product. Need to try it as a drying aide before I can make a real assessment, but as a QD, probably as good if not better then fk425 or anything else I've tried. Tuff to go wrong with any of these high end products IMO.

Poorboys QD+ is probably the only PB's product that I really had issues with. I would alway get streaking no matter how I used it. I was nasty on my black 350Z.

From what I've read, Prima Hydro is a spray wax, not a detail spray though I'm sure it can be used as such. Not sure it's a fair comparison with PQD+ or fk425 but rather more with Opti Spray Wax or one of the many Meguiars products. Glad to hear you like it's performance but in the spray wax category, my expectations for longevity would be a couple of months, not several weeks.

If you read the title, we are talking about a drying aid. I know that Hydro is a spray wax, but I happen to like it better than FK425 as a drying aid. I've gone through gallons of FK425 so it's not like I don't like it. If you use Hydro dry as a spray wax I would agree about it lasting a couple of months, but using it as drying aid, being that it's being diluted, I would not expect it to last for months, but rather weeks.

Didn't want to imply you were unfamiliar with fk425 or anything for that matter, my apologies. I've only used QD type of products as drying aides and haven't tried a spray wax in that capacity. Partly because it didn't occur to me and party due to cost. I have a couple of different spray waxes in the cabinet so I'm going to give that a try based on your comments.

Hey Rsurfer, took your suggestion and tried some Meguiars Ultimate Spray Wax I had in the cabinet as my drying aide - worked really well. Is there a concern using a spray wax 1x week creating wax build up/cloudiness or because it's so diluted there's no need for concern?

Your paint, at some point, is only going to hold so much product. I would not be concerned at all about wax cloudiness or build-up.
