FK1000P Vs Collinite 476

I used FK1000P on the A3 (I think it is my messing about being referred to by the OP ;)) but there is no black trim on that car except the waffle inside the grills, so didnt manage to do my usual trick and mess it up

I keep meaning to try it out, but my Saab has awful textured plastic stuff that once stained is almost impossible to clean properly again, so not something I want to try it on...

As soon as my replaced card arrives, i'm going to order some FK1000P to try, thanks for the help and advice.

Bigpikle, i'm still watching your durability tests ;)

am away until the weekend, but it will be 4 weeks at that point since a proper wash, so will let you know how it goes....

John (Eliot Ness) and I were talking about this last night when I dropped some photos off at his place. I'm going to be doing a black 2009 Suburban in a couple of weeks, and my friend asked that I use my most "protective wax" for the upcoming winter. I told John that I might just do have with 1000P and the other half with 476 to see how they stack up against each other.

I had to make a similar call on my metallic black DenaliXL...my coin-toss came up 476S, but I bet the FK1000P woulda looked better if I coulda gotten the paint prepped nicer.

I dunno..I figured the Collinite, over 1Z WaxPolishSoft, would be more forgiving on the not-perfect paint (hey, I bought it very used and you can imagine what a used black SUV looks like to somebody like me).

Accumulator,

The 'Burb is around three weeks old, and I haven't seen it, but hopefully the dealership didn't hack it up too much. Hopefully I can get by with a wash/clay/one-step/lsp.

We'll see though. Thanks for the insight.

Ah, OK...heh heh, three weeks is very different from three *years* (during which mine was apparently run through the tunnel-wash and never waxed).

I'm going to try to make sure that doesn't happen with this one. We'll see.....
