Hi,i would like to know your thoughts on fk1 products, how do they compare with meguiars, and what product/products would compare closest to nxt paste. cheers:)

Most poeple will say that they were just a flavor of the month but I continue to use them. I like the pink wax, 2180 sealant, and 425 qd.

Definately not a flavor of the month... #2180 and their #425 QD are awesome. Pink Wax is also one of the best carnubas around... Durable too... I would tend to choose one or the other depending on the weather. If it was gonna be sunny the rest of the day and tomorrow, I'd gran the sealant. If it was gonna rain later that day but the car in general needed some protection before driving off, the Pinkwax worked for me.

I've recenlty tried the pink wax and like the looks, but haven't tried any of their other products.

Of the 1/2 dozen products I've used I found them all exceptional other than the car wash.... I thought it just average and look forward to trying more from the FK1 line.

Going against the grain I give clearkote QS a boost above FKI #425. I found QS to have more lubricity in it when QDing. Ye i have used and own both products....02

I tried #425, #1016 (wash), #228 (glass). All worked well but none were keepers. I did think 1016 worked a little better than my existing automagic wash. It was 4x the cost and I couldn't justify the expense for the gain. I would like to try their two paste waxes.

I have used there decontamination kit that I really liked their pink hand glaze which I use between the polishing and LSP for a deeper wetter shine and their anti-static quick detailer spray...which I thought was the best one that I had used...they make top quality products from everything that I have seen and used so far...I place them in the same category as Wolfgang's line....can be a bit pricey but real high quality...I'm going to place another order with them on the QD spray and look at there LSP waxes...that's all I got for ya

RTexasF, I thought the same when I first used their car wash. The watery consistency was not expected and I think I've experienced soaps with a bit more lubricity... BUT its cleaning power is just awesome - yet it doesn't disturb the more sensitive LSPs.

Joe, why is "lubricity" important to you when QDing? I have a good QD which has great spreadability/"lubricity" (Riwax Quick Shine) but I find that it is far more work to spread/flip the towel/buff than using 425. A trigger pull per panel (two mists when you use the small sprayer) is fully sufficient. No spreading, just quick, immediate gloss. It disappears instantly, and won't streak.
I don't understand people who mist the whole panel then spread the mess; wipe it around and finally try to buff it out. 425 is not predestined for this kind of misuse.

Dave, what are your impressions of the hand glaze? I have only the machine glaze but I plan to order the 300 as well.

Bence, i also use a lite mist when detailing 1-2 quick pulls of the trigger. QS seemed to glide over the surface much smoother then #425, for me anyways . Its kind like comparing Megs last touch detailer to PB's S&W . I think i would have to give S&W the edge over megs last touch .I know two different animals. It could be that i have had more Exp with QS, on a better note i did order a 32oz bottle of the #425 to use after my QS runs empty.

Bence have you tried and use QS ?

Nope. From CK's range, I have only Compound Moose, VM, RMG and CMW. Adding a fifth bottle to the kit would almost doubled the shipping cost so I decided to skip it. I'm sure it must be a great product, because from its description it seems just as universal as 425 is.

I try to use QDs which are good enough to provide definite appearance boost. For carnauba finishes I use Victoria Wax QD (excellent!) and for every other apps 425. I use my average QD for dusting and claying.

Of course, I use lots of other, more substantial spray products such as FX-100, Z8, OCW, or Mothers FX/Reflections sprays.

2180 would blow NXT paste out of the water.

The 425 is great, takes very little product, doesn't streak or smear, and the antistatic really works.

FX100 works great and in the same manner and does really well for after washing touch ups. Makes metallics shimmer and solids look really wet.

The Decontamination kit works well and often seems to get more contaminants off/out than just claying.

I've got the Antistatic was, but haven't tried it yet. I'm too in love with my Meg's Hyper wash to get off of it right now.
