FK 425 Separating

Has anyone had a problem with FK 425 separating? When I refilled my squirt bottle this spring from my gallon jug, I noticed stringy slimy pieces in with the liquid. I poured it back in the jug and shook the crap out of it thinking it just needed to be mixed back in.

No such luck. Here is what is coming out of the sprayer.
The product has been stored in my basement on a shelf since I bought it new a little over a year ago

Had that happen with EF Clear Pearl II. I took it that some of the polymer got together and went off (i.e., old product). Strained them and it continues to work well. Won't be quite as effective, though.

I've really been enjoying my bottle of fk425 the last month or so. Guess I need to use it up quickly then???

I'm loving the slickness and shine of it.

Call them up, they will take care of you. I've not had this happen and I've used FK425 for a few years. Talk to Leda.......

Cheers,
GREG

I have never seen that happen. I had a bottle of FK425 that was several years old (forgot I had it, just found it this weekend cleaning my garage) and it was still like new (compared to my new bottle).

On a side note, it was kind of like finding money in a coat pocket that you didn't know was there. It is always a bonus.

Thats too bad .

I dont have FK425 but my UTTG looked like that for a long time until it sat in my van for months and looks fine now. I think the warm temps fixed the problem.

You may want to try heating some up on the stove till its just warm (not hot )stir it and see it mixes together again.

Or try put some in a blender and then strain it !

I am not responsible for any negative out come!:D

I would advise not to heat it up, you have no idea what is chemical comp is and the flash point of the products.

I was thinking did you use THIS spray bottle for anything else? Residue my "glump" the 425 in the sprayer, had it happen with other chemicals.

Update: I contacted Finish Kare and inquired about the problem. I was told that what I was seeing was caused by bacteria in the solution caused by contaminated water during the production process. They said they had this problem a while back and he knew exactly what I was referring to. The stringy snot like particles were actually bacterial growth.

FK volunteered to send me a new gallon to replace my defective product, no questions asked. I appreciate it when a company takes care of their customers.

That's... kind of disgusting, actually (the bacterial growth that is, not how FK takes care of its customers).

Bravo!

I didn't realize at the time that the phone call I received was from the President of Finish Kare.
Jitu "JJ" Jhaveri, President Finish Kare.

This man obviously believes in his business and taking care of his customers!

I was 99.8% sure that they would take care of you if you called. They are really great to work with. I often visit and buy stuff when I'm down to see my parents. leda and JJ are always so helpful.

How ironic! My bottle of FK425 just started doing this, but mine is 3-4 years old. It has always worked great, but all of a sudden it started leaving those smearing streaks. I had never seen any QD do that before and was wondering what was going on. Mystery solved.

Thanks for the follow up! Autopia-CarCare is very selective in bringing in product lines. We want to make sure that who ever we are partnering with holds customer service as high on the priority list as we do. Finish Kare obviously fits that bill. :bigups
