Fk 1000P Application

Yep, it is wise to cut down a bit on drying times with 1000P. 3 days ago I slapped two coats onto my car (24 hrs between layers). I started the 2nd layer with a MF applicator, but it was hard work. I switched to a foam app, which was wonderfully easy, but I somehow managed to drop it. After fuming a bit, a brought out the DA, and finished the work. This is the easiest application of 1000P by far, but I wanted to leave the DA this time. But I'll never apply 1000P without a DA again. Removal was a bit hard on the starting areas where the DA leaves the thickest layer (although I always make random smears around the panels to ensure a thin layer even @ startup).

Silk, the 216 is a great pre-step, because the 1000P glides more smoothly over it.

I used 1000P today for the first time on a silver scion XA i used a black pad on a polishing pal it went on very thin and came off very easy looked great but i didnt get to see it in full sun

Whats the best way top get the 1000P or PW out of the can and onto a PC pad ? I've just been using a putty knife , but it seems to waste more product.

I guess I should scrape the old caulk off the putty knife before I used it to spread on to a pad .............just kidding.

Anyone use 1000P on the windshield or other windows ?

Being a synthetic and extremely durable I think it work well. I might give it a try . Unless you think ....BAD IDEA !!!

Fallguy,

I squeeze the pad together and stuff it into the tin, twist it once or twice, as needed, and put it onto the DA. I don't use putty knives, or scrapers...

And it works good on windows too.

I put 2 coats on about 8 hours apart today , wiped down with 425 after, looks nice . I know some waxes look better a day or 2 after , anyone experience this with the 1000P ?

I'm going to try not to top it at all and maybe do another coat next weekend.

What do you think about using the FX100 as a topper / refresher / spray wax type of product ? I know it a glaze / sealant w/wax. Will it take away from the 1000 appearance ?????

Bence ???? your thoughts......

The 1000P also improves its look. Depending on outside conditions (even colors), the full curing lasts quite long; I'd say at least 2-3 days, and it develops a wonderfully even, reflective film on the surface.

In my experience the FX-100 works always good on top of the 1000P. It won't take away anything but rather gives more warmth. In some cases it is even slicker than 425.
