Fk 1000P Application

Just layed down 2 layers of FK 2180 for the winter.

I used the 2180 last April and I've been really impressed with the look and durability.

Over the past months I've been using PW, FX100, and 425 with excellent results also.

Just received 1000P, which I'll layer as a topcoat and was wondering if anyone had any tips or hints besides putting it on very thin.

Thanks!

Yes,dampen your applicator with water or #425,work it in,leave for 15-20 mins(you can leave it longer, makes no difference),great product, one of the most durable waxes if not*THE* most durable wax out there.

my favorite wax. Put on with a pc. let it sit for 20 minutes. wipe off. I've gotten 8 month (customer wanted another full detail) out of it - paint was still in great shape. the rover sits outside 24/7 and not taken care of. BTW, it was applied over Poorboys PWC. Imagine what it will do over 2180! Good stuff.

I havent used 1000P yet but wondering how it compares with collinite 845 and 855/476

I have 2180 and pinkwax and like them both but im looking for more metallic pop than pw

thanks

You would get more metalic pop with 1000p,than pink wax,1000p is 'bright' while pink wax is warm/wet.It does leave a very nice finish, but it won't hide anything,so remember to get the paint as good as you can first.

I've always applied 2180 with a PC, whats your method for applying 1000p with a PC?

Also, how many layers do you guys put on, and how often?

is 1000P meant to be a monthly wax? I'm going to ask for a $5 sample when I restock my 425 and 146. I loaned out my massive 10 pound tin of Pink Wax. PW is nice but not really wet enough for me. I've topped it with Aqua Wax (chased with 425) and it got a wetter look. I'm going to try a Optimum Wax mixed with Werkstatt Carnauba Jett. My car is silver.

I wouldn't say that 1000p is meant to be a monthly wax,or 3 monthly wax etc,but of course you can apply it as often as you see fit.I have 'let it go' for 10 months on a test panel,in my garden in scotland, and it was still there! but i would never leave my own car for even 1 month, without reapplying something. On your silver car,i don't think 1000p is going to look all that wet in comparison to pink wax,but it will look quite bright.

From what i know, 1000p dries up much faster than pink wax. recommended is to wait for just 5-10 min and do it section by section.

I have done a couple of silver cars with 1000p and it gives silver that wet look that is amazing. I usually always put 3 coats of 1000p on any color. It adds a thick shine to silver which makes it stand out more than any other lsp that I have tried so far. Pink wax does not do much for silver, but other colors it is amazing. Try 1000p on your silver car and you will like it a lot. I also love there wash and wax. It leaves a shine and amazing protection every time you wash. I am so spoiled by this stuff. Good luck and nice car!

After giving my car a second layer of 1000P yesterday, I have to wholeheartedly agree. The look is awesome. :2thumbs:

My 8 year old son said it best when he said "It looks like a piece of hard candy with silver specks in it."

I do plan on 1 more layer for extra winter protection soon.

Now put a couple of coats of pink wax over it. Do you have any pics?

This has pink wax for my once a month application,

For the weekly/byweekly post wash I use Aqua Wax chased with 425 to restore the anti-static barrier.

I recently gave away my pink wax to another Silver car owner.

how does the 1000P compare to this?

nice car!!!!! I have been playing around with the 1000p and pink wax and from what I see with my eyes is that 1000p after 3 coats is a thick, super glossy shine that does not wash away. I have even tried spraying degreaser on it and nothing... I was amazed at that point! It's more like a paste sealant on steroids. If you buy the 1000p also get the 1016 wash and wax. This stuff is amazing. It also leaves a nice shine and repells water from all the moldings and windows just by washing and the dirt just falls off. The best car wash and wax out there!!!!

Have you ever used collinite 845?

How would you compare the look of 1000P to collinite 845?

Im waiting on my order nor 1000P,215 and 336ng

I have used 845 a few years back and it was good stuff, but it was a bit of a muted shine in somewhat. Lasted for a long time though! 1000p is more shiny, wet and deep. I have been testing it for 5 months now on a fender I have in my back yard with no washes. Everytime it rains I look at the water beading off the fender. My girlfriend thinks I have issues...lol!

I tried the 336ng and it works good, but I am spoiled with my po1066ff.

I've tried PW, and even though I like it, right now I prefer the look of the 1000P. Very clean and wet, and it really brings out the silver metallic.

Working on getting some pics up soon.

I had a 2 coats on my 4Runner ( met. gray ) and naturally wanted to try a different approach , because .......well you guys know why ...really for no good reason but to try something else. Anyway I did a dawn wash and then dawn washed again , still did'nt seem like the 1000p was gone yet, good strong lasting stuff.

The first coat of 1000p is a bit#$ to put on and take off at first, but the second layer goes on and comes easy. Well worth the all the hard work.

Hey !!! I washed, put a layer of FK #216 with a FK blue pad, with the PC. (BTW FK#216 was easy on/off- great shine). Then I laid down the 1000p. Maybe I slapped it on too thick, but it was harder than I thought to take off. Next time I am cutting my dry time to 5 mins or less.

Looks marvelous though. Dusk now, taking pics tomorrow.......
