Fixing plastic windows

My 09 Wrangler has the soft top which means 3 plastic windows that are factory tinted. As a result of improper storage techniques by... umm... me... they've gotten pretty badly scratched.

I've seen some products on PAC but they all say 'clear plastic'. Is the tinting going to get wrecked if I use these?

The tinting, like i said, is factory, and seems to be part of the plastic itself. There isn't a film stuck on to it like regular glass tints.

If anyone has experience with these kinds of windows I'd love to hear it.

I would start with Plexus plastic polish. Those plastic windows can be brittle. I had a Honda S2000 back window crack on me trying to clean it up. It will not cause issues with the tint.

Just like DJ said, the Plexus Plastic Cleaner or maybe one of these will do the trick for you: BLACKFIRE One Step Plastic Cleaner, Polish & Glaze, All Kleer Plastic Windshield Cleaner, Raggtopp Convertible Top Plastic Window Cleaner & Protectant Kit and Meguiar's No. 10 & No. 17 Plastic Care. But always remember to test a very small area to see it will work for your needs.:Car smiley:

I very much like the Plexus but I'm not sure if it's going to help with those kind of scratches. Definitely no issues with tinted plastic even if it was the thin film.

Ordered some of the Meguiars Plastic cleaner tonight. I'll write a review when I get the stuff and try it out!

Angelo, don't forget to throw in that fancy Megs towel for free!
