First two coats of z-5 and z6

I am posting a few pics of two of my cars. Both cars have AIOx1, SG x 3 or 4 (forgot:o ). They were Klassed about a month ago. The BMW has a fresh coat of Souveran on it and the Mustang a fresh coat of Blitz. I also included a pic of the Z-16 on a tire and also on the black trim on the hood of the BMW. My own feelings are the the Blitz and Souveran are fairly close in look. I did have Souveran on the Mustang before the blitz so I am comparing apples to apples. Its difficult to really compare it side by side on the two different cars. They both look similar to me.

Here is the fresh coat of Z-16 on the black trim of the BMW. This lasts like this about 1 month. Its also on the wiper arms.

Here is the Mustang. I posted some pics a while back with the Souveran on it. This is now with Blitz. I definitely think the Souveran is a lot easier to work with. The Blitz haze is harder to get off and gives off a white dust. Also requires more care around the trim. Both cars were done by hand and then buffed with a PC and a MF bonnet.

And the hood shot... This is the one that shows most of the difference with the Souveran. Unfortunately, the pic of the Mustang with the Souveran has a little be different lighting so its not as easy to tell the difference. Let me see if I can find the referenc to it...

Z-1 and Z-2 your wiper arms and you'll have it covered. This will give you more protection against the salt air in your area. I have it on mine and the water and dust just blow off the wipers.



My car is just like yours, no wonder I like it soooo much :D
 
looks fantastic man.....i love that Z16 look...not too shiny...but not too matte also.....just right.great job!!!!!!!!!:up ..just curious....if you have a PC..,.is it just a personal preference to put it on by hand and buff off with a PC.....i do it all by hand because...i dont have a PC....great job again!!!!!!!!

Actually, I take it off by hand with a MF and then just buff with the PC for that extra shine and also gets the dust off of the Blitz. They both come off relatively easily, though the Blitz a little harder than the Souveran. I don't know if one bonnet would go the distance in buffing all that wax off anyways.



I have Z-2 on the windshield...I never thought about putting it on the wipers! I did put AIO on the black trim on the Mustang and it has been great. And I thought I was done for the weekend...:eek:

30% tint all around. This is considered the "medium" tint. They look dark from certain angles and when the sun is not direct. Any darker than this would make night driving uncomfortable for me. I also have the custom fit inside windshield cover which helps a lot with the Florida sun.

My new black Cobalt SS got two coats of Zaino yesterday after a wash and clay bar,I am impressed on how easy it is to use...I am an ol wax guy...its nice not to have to rub my ass off removing wax residue....I think I could get used to this :notworthy: it does take sum getting used to to get the application down whereas its thin enough even after putting on a spritz of Z-6 on the applicator....any tricks to this ?
 
I've never found any "tricks" to making Zaino spread thin easily, other than using it on PC. You wind up using a lot more product though. I myself would love to hear input from other people on the tricks and trade of Zaino. Even now, I still find it to be an amazing sealant.
 
I'm a 10-year Zaino Veteran. Spray a spritz of Z6 on your foam pad and apply an "X" on the pad with the sealant. But don't go all the way to the edges of the pad (too much). It would be the equivalent to a "dime size" on the pad.

Rub it into the pad with your fingers, but not so much that it dissappears into the pad.

Spray a couple spritzes of Z6 to half the hood. Then apply the sealant in long single strokes from front to back, back to front, only over lapping about 1/8". Re-spray your pad with Z6 each time.

Only apply once and don't go over your strokes.

Repeat for each panel. Let dry until you can wipe it with your finger and it doesn't smear... it should come off so you can see the paint clear and shiny.

If you use ZFX, you can repeat for a second (or 3rd, 4th, etc.) layer immediately.

If not using ZFX, re-apply the next day.

To remove product, simply wipe with a soft Microfiber towel.

Follow up with Z8 for the shine and slickness of a lifetime!:clap:

Thin is in. If you're using more than 1/2 ounce of Z2 or Z5 for your entire vehicle, that's to much! (8 oz. bottle = 16 layers!!!):D The same goes for Z8... thinner and less product is better. Just 2 light sprays will do half the hood.

those are good tips ! I sorta did that ,but wasnt spraying the paint with the Z6...just spritzin the applicator....the paint idea sounds better ,thats should thin the Z5 a little as it goes on :D....I am going to continue today with it..thats for the advice !! :D
 
Thanks for the tips. One thing I always wondered was when(if at all) you can put on the next layer if not using ZFX. I didn't mind paying for ZFX until a brand new bottle dried up on me one time. It would have been easier on me if I had just took a $20 bill and tossed it in the shredder!:cursing:
Now, I find myself checking my last ZFX bottle every few weeks to make sure it's alright!

ZFX does two things. It allows you to re-apply immediately and it increases the longevity of the sealant. It does nothing for the shine or slickness of the product (that I'm aware of).

I find myself not using it because I re-apply it so often.... not because it NEEDS re-applying but because it just looks so darn good right after application and I love the act of applying sealant!:out::Dancing Dot:
