First time with the rotary on my '04 cobra...DUW

Well...I busted out my Harbor Freight Chicago Electric $29 rotary this morning to detail my car. This thing definitely makes the PC look like a little toy.

I also used Poorboy's Polish w/ Carnauba Blue for the first time today. It's an interesting product. It feels a lot like RMG, acts a lot like RMG (darkens the paint a tad), but it has the light polishing ability of VM. Definitely a stellar product.

- Optimum Polish via CE Rotary w/ LC light cutting pad (orange pad)

- Optimum Polish via CE Rotary w/ LC polishing pad (white pad)

- Poorboy's Polish w/ Carnauba Blue via PC w/ Meg's polishing pad

- Poorboy's EX via PC w/ Meg's finishing pad

- Poorboy's Natty's Blue by hand, spitshined with Clearkote QS detail spray

- Poorboy's BnB on tires

- Detailer's Pride window cleaner on glass

On to the pics...

Nice- but what did it look like before?

Probably looked almost as good as it did after. spree really takes good care of his cobra!

Nice job spree. :xyxthumbs

Did you pic up a new camera? The shots looks a little bit more real/clear than some of your older pics.

And I have to give you credit on still having F1's on there, are they the originals? If they are the OE tires you have a lot of self control my friend.

Keep up the good work spree!

Thanks! No, that's still the same Canon A95...

Yeap, original F1's going on 18k miles strong :) Most of that is bumper to bumper freeway miles though...

Did you run into any problems using the rotary?

Not really. It was a bit tough to learn how to control it at first. It's way heavier than a PC and tends to "walk" if you grip it too tight or put too much pressure onto the paint. I also created a couple of very minor holograms, which I quickly corrected.

Other than that...optimum polish is really a lifesaver for a rotary noob such as myself. I got confident enough to use a cutting pad with it without any major issues. I found that all was well as long as I kept the machine moving at about a rate of 2-3" per second, stayed loose/relaxed, and positioned my body properly.
