First time using Wool, I think im getting it

Hi All, So it was a nice day today so i thought i would break out rotary and new products i havent got to use yet. i first decided to clean up my headlights so i went out and bought 3m pads and started with that

i think they turned out pretty good for 1st time, any suggestions plz chime in.



then on the bonnent, the cars full of swirls just havent got round to doing anthing, so i started the bonnent. tried out a few combination to see what worked, i used megs yellow wool, megs maroon wool, lc white pad, cyan, tangerine, m105, m205, menz power finish. i did one side and used about everthing i had, then on the right side used maroon wool, lc white pad and im real happy with the results.

If you think you did a nice job, you probably did, but it's really hard to tell with those pictures, no lighting to see imperfections.
 
Alright, I gotta say it, did you really need to start with 800 grit on those lights? (visions of Marty the headlight detailer, on location, dance thru my head) Those befores don't look that bad, or were those not really the befores? Afters look really good, tho.
 
Nothing wrong with using 800 grit to start with. Especially if you do further refining. Better to sand out defects than buff them.



Lights look good btw.
 
When the sun was out i checked my work with ipa wipe, i got about 90% im still learning to take good after shots, ill take some better pics as i go along, as for the headlight, they were pretty bad when i started, starting with 800 maybe not needed but first time needed to see what i was dealing with
