No pictures yet but I spent 8 hours on my Acura last night.

Washed, Clayed, SSR2, SSR2.5, SSR1, PwC and finally EX-P. It looks good but needs another coat of EX-P tonight and a final coat tomorrow night.

I used the Edge2000 pads with the short adapter.... man, is there a difference in vibrabration between the long and short version! I ran the PC at 4.5-5 without any excessive vibration.

Thanks to Edge and PB for their great products.... I needed some SSR3 but I think it is the only PB product I don't have yet!

I had to drive the car today so I assume I should S&W before putting on the next layer of EX-P.

So Glad to hear that the new revised adapter is working well. We are excited that this product is now perfect! All DC members please keep in mind If you have purchased the Edge 2000 DA pads from www.premiumautocare.com and also received the Edge 2000 Quick Connect Adapter with the mini-adapter for use with the Porter Cable dual action polisher you can now receive, at NO CHARGE TO YOU, the new and improved shorter adapter that will eliminate any excessive vibration that some of you have experienced while using the Edge 2000 DA system with your Porter Cable polisher!

Wow, now that was one long sentence!

For those of you that have not tried this system yet, Dwayne at PAC has the new adapters and tons of foam pad inventory.

It sounds like you really went to town with the car. I just got some Edge pads in and will hopefully be trying them out this weekend. What size pad were you using?

Scott are you going to sell teh Edge2000 pads? I can't wait to see newer pads on the market

Woob...no idea. I have to try them out first. Besides, I thought you weren't buying until the holidays? Or, are you counting Labor Day as a shopping holiday? :D

Scott, I used the Edge2000 pads which I think only come in one size.... something around 6-1/2" but I'm not sure.

I put on another coat of EX-P last night but I can't say that I saw any difference. I may try another coat tonight or move right to Nattys.

Take a look at this link

http://www.autogeek.net/e210.html

Looks like the square fitting with a spring-loaded ball lock on a ratchet for attaching sockets. There must be a square fitting in the center of the pad that the square Edge2K fitting snaps into, thereby making the pad reversible.

You buy one Edge2K pad but actually you're getting two pads (buffing surfaces) to use

Hehe Scott you never know when I might need them for a detail. Got a big order for cars now! Yes adapter goes into the pad btw and you haev alot of the pad to work with.

I have the 6" pads for my DA. I think the 8" pads are for a rotary.

The adaptor has a hex on the end that mates with a hex in the middle of the pad. NYV6Coupe is correct, you actually get 2 pads because you can flip it over. You can even get a different color pad on each side if you want but I stuck with the same foam on both sides.

Good stuff.

I have a number of different PC and rotary pads. Recently, I took a series of pictures which may be of some help here. In this photo, I stacked a variety of pads on top of each other then snapped a photo from the side to show the relative sizes and profiles. The pads pictured are as follows (actual measured width at widest point in parentheses) -

Yellow, Lake Country Variable Contact (5 7/8")
Blue, Edge2000 DA (6")
Green, Edge Durafoam DA (6 1/4")
Black, Lake Country "Advanced" Curved Edge (7 3/4")
White, Edge2000 Rotary (9 1/8")

Marj,
OK the thread now has pictures, but reviews? (when you can spare time from your son!)
Norah
Actually, I have posted reviews of these pads in past threads. Try searching on the keyword "pads" plus my user name (there are too many threads to list the links here). Each model has its own pros and cons. My ideal pad would be the size and shape of the Lake Country Advanced pad but made out of the Edge Durafoam material and compatible with the Edge2000 mounting system.
