First SLC Autopia Car Show

Here are some pictures I uploaded. Forgive the glow. Its that stupid fingerprint. I put pictures of our Audi we did the half and half treatment on. We wanted to have a car they were allowed to touch and feel so they could see some of the possibilities. It was done with AIO, DACP and UPP. SIG on the glass, EO Wet on the tires, A2Z on the "wheels", and Back to Black on the trim. Other than the AIO it was all stuff they could pick up locally. I even supplied cards to the most central Meguiar's distributor I knew of so they could go get the good stuff. :)

Pretty cool - that 337 looks almost as clean as mine. :D j/k - amazing how clean it is considering he AutoX's it and all...did it have a clear bra?

I'm pretty sure he did. I can't remember exactly. There were several cars there with clear bras. I'm glad they are catching on and people are using something to save them from rock chips.

Gotta love those "clear bras" I have it all over the SC430... Oh sorry I thought you said Zaino. :p

That said, love my Armorglove!

My gloved SC430

New pics to be shot soon with the Souveran on top of the Zaino.

Regards,

Deanski

Geeezzeee dude..... do you drink the stuff too? lol I'm going to do a search and see if there are any posts where you didn't mention either a clear bra or Zaino in it. :lol

edit

Zaino: 167 out of 681

Clear Bra: only 17 out of 681 LOL Good jorb there hamstray.

Just call me Zaino red blood cell :D

Ok, so I broke down this weekend and added a topping of Souveran paste on all the Zaino. Looks deeper. Darn CBT towel doesn't slide like it did before, but it sure looks nice. New pics to follow once good weather is here!

And if I didn't mention; ZAINO ZAINO ZAINO:bow

SC430 with ZAINO

More Zaino

:D :D :D :D

Deanski

I'll have to dig in the archive, but I could have sworn there was a rule about hijacking one of my threads with Zaino praise. I'll have to look into that. ;) :lol

ROTFLMAO.. BAN BAN BAN

Nice!

So, when is Monster Garage going to put Zaino on YOUR car for the ahem, test (Florida elections comes to mind) on the sealants?

:D :D

Oh yea, it's not a clear bra.. it's a MAN-ZIER!!!

REGARDS,

Deanski

I think they have me scheduled to have that done on the 12th of Never. :D Zaino ain't going on the teg because I've seen Z on white and I'm not a fan. I don't mind testing it on the Accord though. I'm not looking for a product that ownz all others... I'm just looking for what I like. If Zaino looks good on the Accord then maybe I'll switch. Its going to have to look really really good to get me to spend the 80 bones on getting the setup when I'm already loaded with what I use on my Integra already.

My test isn't going to be rigged at all. I'll get innocent bystanders to see if they can tell the difference. I'll post all kinds of pictures and let you guys see the difference. I'm not out to prove that Z sucks. I just want to see it side by side with the other two.

Now, now, guys. This thread is about the SLC Autopia Car Show ... which seems to have been wildly successful, thanks to Jngr and other energetic Autopians.

Deanski, I'm a Zaino fan too, but this is not the thread for a Zaino advertisement. I have my Mod gun loaded and am ready to delete posts as needed.

Lynn,

I was replying with regards to the clear bras used on some of the cars pictured.

It really was a "shot" at Zaino as people reffer it as plastic looking ...clear bra... get it?

That said. It went 360 after that comment.

Nice to see these cars and that they too have installed clear bras to protect the finish.

Love to see the rest of these pics.

Regards,

Deanski

Wouldn't it be 180 instead of 360?

C'mon people... For one, Lynn is a moderator. She is just trying to keep this thread from being further hijacked. I don't think you need to quote the rules and etiquette guidelines to a moderator. Trust me, that wasn't an attack. She was just trying to kill the hijacking and let the thread just be. Not that I don't appreciate the bump, but I would prefer the whole hijacking just end now and the last 10 posts (11 including this one) just be deleted. They have nothing to do with the thread.

that 1/2 done car is hilarious!! :D :D

How long did you have to let the undone side go to get it like that???

Did you only even wash 1/2, or wash the whole thing..

I bet you could convince any normal person to buy some wax by using that as an advertisement. classic!!!

Trust me, that is no Autopian car. :D That is the dealership loaner car. I don't know how long it takes to get a car looking that nasty but I would guess its a good 8 or 10 years of no waxing and few washes. We washed the whole thing and then just clayed and polished one half. With the little work we did on it I don't think anyone would mistake it for a 'show car' or anything, but the contrast to the before was good enough that people got the idea of what was possible. Fortunately there weren't any cars that were in worse condition than even the side we did half on. Everybody who entered were in really really good shape. There was one black car that was swirled to hell and back, but it was the only one. Most of the people were even familiar with clay. Go figure... :lol

I am doing a friends car tonight that's close to that...

It's a 99 miata that's never seen any wax, gets washed at the self washes with the 'broken glass brushes' and lives in a mud/gravel drive way..

The paint color is a midnight blue mica, so it's a fantastic color, one of my fav's, and I feel so bad for the car that it's gonna be a freebie (he brings the beer) job and i'm gonna teach him as we work.

I'd love to do half like that, just to show him.. I should, and make him drive around like that til next week. that would be great.

I always thought it would be cool to buy a work truck that was oxidized like that and just detail the drivers side. It would be like a rolling advertisment for a mobile detailer. Anyone can maintain a great looking vehicle, but I think it would say alot for people to see that you can bring a vehicle back from the dead. If I ever do get a POS pickup then I'm definitely going to do that and put my business logo on the clean side. ;)

Here's a thought for ya.... Just detail one half and tell him that one is on you. Then leave your card and tell him to call you when he has the money to get the other side done. lol :lol I used to do just one half of the spoiler or something like that to show people what was possible. I think a half and half demonstration is important for people to see now and then. I think Mike Phillips would agree with that. :xyxthumbs He is my hero of the half and half vehicles.

I wonder what the Audi/Porsche dealership thought about the car when the got it back. :)
