This is the first my first vehicle! I feel pretty good about it, What do the professionals think? Trying to save up a little and buy some good quality buffers that will hold up to the abuse but right now I have a Harbor Freight Rotary and a Craftsman da. I didnt take any before pictures my wife had the camera but it was pretty scratched up.

Thanks, It took about 9 hours total, I taped off all the plastic, used the turtle wax medium polish, Meguiars cleaner wax, Then finished with Meguiars nxt. Lambs wool with the polish then terry cloth on the other two. I cant wait to try some of the professional strength products. I definately need some recommendations on what everyone uses to clean wheels! Man those were a pain. Thanks again

looks good but doesnt the cleaner wax cancel out some of the effect of the nxt ?
oh and the preferred use of wax and sealant is to wax after sealing with NXT 2.0, did you encounter any difficulties or hazing after using nxt to the cleaner wax ?? was it harder to buff off ?

Nice work on the truck...when your ready for wheel cleaners...look at the PB S&R it will do a bang up job on cleaning...then use your polish on that painted part it will make them look new again!

nice work and props for not being scared of a rotary ...its an amazing tool that cannot be beat for paint correction:rockon

So I should have used the cleaner wax as the final step?? I was afraid it would strip the nxt is why I did it that way. But thanks for the info maybe thats why it took me so long to complete:confused:

DO not use the cleaner wax as a final step. Your steps were correct. Wash, paint correction, paint cleaning, then paint protection. The truck looks great, nice reflections.

Yes, you have it correct by using the cleaner wax before the NXT2.0. NXT 2.0 supposedly has some cleaning ability in it that may have removed any wax the cleaner wax left behind. Had you asked me, personally, I would have said to skip using the cleaner wax altogether.

yes, in all after you polished, i would say the cleaner wax is not needed really, a coat of NXT should be sufficient and then only use a regular non-cleaner wax over top if u want it more glossy !

Personally, I don't think I'd recommend topping NXT 2.0 as it's slick and glossy by itself. IT is one sealant that has a carnauba look to it already.

Then again, I am not really big into "topping" LSP's either. At one point, I may have done that, but for a while I've just done a couple of coats of whatever LSP strikes me at the moment and leave it at that.

Thanks to everyone, I am new to all of this so any advice is deeply appreciated. I have 2 more lined up at the beginning of next week. Hopefully they turn out as good if not better then this one. This is kind of addicting.. Thanks again
