First PC use...am I not picky enough?

This was my first PC use. It's on my dads second car...a 1994 (I think) geo prizm. Its rarely washed and when I said something about waxing it when I was done he started chuckling...that ought'a tell you how well this car is taken car of.

I found that I only needed to use DACP...I was using it with a yellow edge pad (medium cut) but found that I didn't need to follow up with #80. On the trunk I sprayed 50/50 water/alcohol and wiped it off and it looked the same so I don't think the "trade secret" oils were hiding anything (maybe I'm wrong). Am I just not picky enough? Maybe I wasn't working it hard enough? How much of a haze does DACP normally leave? Is it even possible to not leave hazing when using DACP.

Anyway here's the procedure: I washed with turtle wax zip wash (I already had this, but both autozone and wally world only had this and "blue coral" or something), clayed with clay magic, polished as I said with #83 and then put on #26.

The paint wasn't perfect when I was done, but I think it looks amazing.

The pics didn't turn out that great, I only shined a light in one of them (a halogen, but it didn't seem all that bright) and it was an overcast day. Anyway here they are:

These first three are after a wash and clay it actually wasn't as bad as I thought it would be once it was washed, but it was worse than it looks in the pics.

Here the left half of the trunk has been polished and the left hasn't.

Here the near side of the roof has been polished and the far hasn't. It showed a bigger difference in real life, but you can still see a bit of contrast here.

And the finished product.

Random thoughts: I need to find a good tar remover. I removed ( most of) it with clay...what a pain in the @$$. Any suggestions? The patina MFs from excel are great for product removal. I ordered a few to try out, but got mostly the regular ones. Oh well.

Any thoughts on the DACP thing?

Thanks for looking.
