Hey guys,

Well I recently got my 02 black 6spd sport pack miata and finally had a chance to fully detail it. Last weekend I tried the product would not come off so I tried again this weekend. Results were much better.

My procedure:

1. Meg wash

2. Meg cleaner to get rid of some of the old product from the hood

3. Meguiars #7 glaze

4. Meg #26 high tech yellow carnuba wax

5. Meg tire wet

Here are the before pics and some beading:

Afters:

Process was good this time, I applied a thin layer of the products and it turned out great. I would like more dept to it. But I think it was good for a first time. I will spend more time on it next time.

There is some minor swirling, any products I should use to get rid of it. Something OTC would be nice unless I really need to order stuff online I can do that too..

I love this car and I love detailing it...the accord is next :) love detailing her too :) :) :bigups

Looks like you did an excellent job! Did you do all this by hand or with a PC? For swirl removal you could use some of the Meg's products but I think there are some easier to use products. I would order some products from an online retailer. Where are you in Ontario? Maybe we can give you something to try out.

Did it with a cheapo rotary buffer: worked well, although last time I did a majority of the car with scratch X by hand and I was sooo tired after that :)

I'm in windsor but am originally from toronto and come back to toronto atleast once a month or two. What do you suggest getting?

I would definitely look into getting a Porter Cable (PC) 7424, 7335 or 7336 as it will save your arms and your results will be so much better. You could pop across to Detroit and pick one up at Lowe's, they're usually around $99. As for products there are so many good ones. I would check out 20-20 Kustoms as they are in Windsor, they carry many of the popular product lines you'll see discussed on the site. If you need anything else just send me a PM.

Yeah I agree I should have put those plastics on a towel but I made sure they did not slide and hurt the paint.

The car was clayed the week before so I did not see the need to clay it again. :)

thanks :)

yep the NB 99 and up miata's get classes into CS, no mods since I run stock classes. Although the car has the factory sport pack so LSD, bilstein shocks, a little bigger breaks, 16 inch rims, strut tower bar, 6spd and some other stuff I think sway bar but I am not completely sure. I had a blast the miata is such a joy at the limit its communitcates almost telepathically and handles amazingly well. Its pretty fast on a tight auto x course with a good driver, not me but I had a pro drive it and man he ran some pretty fast times. :)

Good luck with the miata, I tottaly recommend it....PM me if you need more info
