First Detail - ssr 2.5, #80, WG twins

As title suggests this is my first "proper" detail. First time I used a machine, an abrasive polish etc. I also decided to use my black s2000 as a test bed (probably not the best car for a beginner in retrospect).

Anyway I have attached a few shots.

Products used were as follows:

Gold Class wash

3m clay

ssr 2.5 (for hood and fenders)

speed glaze

WG polish enhancer

WG sealant x 1 (will try and put another 2 coats on and top with souveran).

Am pretty happy with the finished results. Wolfgang is really easy to use (too easy for the result you get) but the WG polish enhancer does dust allot. I also had the misfortune of a bird droppings on my first drive out. I was surprised that the mess didn’t come off a lot easier given how slick WG is. Maybe a further coat or the souveran will help.

I now need to focus on learning how to remove swirls more effectively. I have the products but don’t have the technique down just yet.

And finally hats off to all you guys who do this full time, day in day out. I usually drive a desk usually and while I was not expecting it to be easy I didnt realise (even with a machine) that it still takes alot of physical effort to get the right result (my backs a little sore as a result). Had lots of fun in any case!

:D

WoW! :shocked

Nice work and excellent glow on black...

If you haven't already purchased Souveran, think about Poorboy's Natty's Paste Wax...We did a side-by-side comparo between the two and the looks are soooo close and for 1/4 of the price you can't go wrong :D

We dont have pc is Australia but I used something simmilar.

I used ssr 2.5 on a couple of the panels. It is very easy to use, smells great and leaves a "dry" finish (i dont think it has any where near the amount of oils as speed glaze).

Although it got rid of a lot of swirls, there are still a few on the car. DACP has been used on my car before and it may be a little more aggressive.
