First Detail....Please Help

The only picture I'm able to see is the one of your tailgate. To get those scratches out, you'll need a cutting pad and a compound, or possibly touch-up, if they're really deep.

Those swirls would probably come out with a polish like SSR2.5 and a cutting pad, followed by 2.5 again with a polishing pad.

Im with Paul, i think the 2.5 would make a huge difference. No doubt that horizontal one wont come out, and the one by the tailgate latch may not, but 2.5 should minimize it to say the least....I cany say i have ever used 2.5 with a finishing pad as a final cleanup polish, Paul may be on to something....My normal routine is 2.5 with a polishing pad, then Opt Polish with a polishing pad. Just take your time and enjoy the transformation......What are you sealing with ??

I have no idea what to seal it with. This will be my first attempt at using a PC and i was hoping that if i showed you guys the pictures then you could recommend a process and products to use.

Your process and products are determined by the needs and end product your seeking. But we always try to start with the least evasive methods first.

If you have the 2.5, go with it, but expect some additional cleanup work with a lighter grade polish.

On another note, i had someone calling today for some first time advice. He had been using an orange pad which is a fairly good cutting pad. he went on to state he can also clean up with 2.5 with the orange. So, many option, techniques available. The best advice? Try try try, and learn...

We're here to help those willing to listen and willing to share there experiences with us......

my fathers black accord had a key swiped across to. sorry to hear that, i used a yellow meguiars pad and 83, 15lbs of pressue on 6.. i found that working the polish in perpendicular was easiest.....start at one of the ends and see if you cant get it out, it wont come out but i did it so you can only see it under the right light/right angle, and i looks like a faint scratch

Aright cool. So here's what i was thinking:

1. NXT wash

2. Mother's clay

3. NXT wash again (if neccessary)

3. SSR2.5 with Propel orange pad (just once???)

4. Menzerna FPII with Propel green pad

5. EX-P to seal

6. Top with Natty's Blue

Please let me know if this is a good or bad plan. Again this is my first detail with the PC and polishes and sealants and all that. By the way are all the pictures showing up now?

Brandon

That process seems good to me. You'll have to see what it looks like after SSR2.5/orange, to determine whether you need to use that combo again, or maybe 2.5 with a green pad.

And no, I can't see any more pics.

Ok i think i fixed all the pictures that i wanted to show:

I hope these work.

Pictures look fine now. The process you outlined will work. I would work slowly and methodically using the orange propel pad checking my work often. Work each area as often as needed. I would use the pc at a speed of 4.5 to five. Check the pad often to make sure that there is no build up on the pad. Then use the FPll to finish up. It will work. :xyxthumbs
