2002 Protege ES 2002. car has 78K Kms on the odo.
This is my sisters car which was bought new in mid 2001.
It was last waxed in 2002. Washed by hand 2x a year since then.
Surprisingly there were only minor swirl marks on this thing, no full out circular cobwebs. I could not even capture the swirls. ( a combination of my ****** camera skils, the car being silver and the fact that they really weren't bad at all.

It seems like rarely washing your car is better than doing it wrong. However, This car is fighting a battle with Rust. Now, sure this car was rarely washed, but I dont blame the lack of washes for this. I have a theory that there is something that Mazda neglects to do in the manufacturing process which makes them more prone to rusting out early. I have been closely watching other mazda's, P5s and proteges and they are all rusting from every seem as well. Good cars, great chassis, reliable power train, too bad they cant get the rust under control, as Toyota and Honda have put rusty body's behind them years ago.
